Any leaf fan knows Roy is a guy the leafs would be interested in. Big question would he want to come play in tax hell?
I really like Rielly, but he is only a number 2 on a contending team. He is not strong enough in his own end.

I think Nick will have more Blue Jay news than Leafs news this Summer. I am 85% certain that the Core 5 will be with us in October. Leaving Treliving to tinker with the 38% of the team payroll not allocated to the top 5 players.
I could see the Leafs go big for one of the top UFA s and trade for the other. Where maybe it could be for a Shea Theodore in a block buster Marner deal. Or it could be smaller deal for a Berube guy in Parayko. Then maybe figure out the mariner situation later in the summer. I will say this while Zadorov is a good get, I don't see him as a Top pairing guy maybe a tweener of top 4 or bottom pairing
They need a proven playoff performer like they had in Ryan O'Reilly for a short time. I know it's not easy to find, but they have a great trade piece in Marner.
I’m hoping the leafs could put a trade together between them and vegas surrounding Marner.
If so I’d try to get Theodore and whitecloud. Then you’d have to only worry about a first pairing right shot d man. Pesce is a the guy I’d target for sure.

I feel like you guys post this major report every day lol it’s all rumours I get you want stuff to talk about but maybe limit it . Marner is likely not going anywhere , everyone including you guys said 5% chance but that’s not the case .

For an extra million why would you not try for montour instead of pesche ? Montour can do it all he can score get points run the power play hit . Pesche is more 1 dimensional great defender but no offence ( I get we don’t really need offence ) but it wouldn’t hurt because Reilly is the only guy who brings our back end offence . Montour likely be 6-7, then get someone cheaper if you can afford zadorov great but he’s likely going to want $5+ mill . Roy is a good option cheap and gritty .

We need our PK to get better I think we should try to get martinhook as a 3rd liner great defensively and on the PK. If you can somehow trade marner for a top 4 dman and a top 6 C I’d do it

Buddy says pesche won’t cost a lot after his buddy just said he will be around $7 mill. If I’m paying $7 mill I want montour . He can do way more then pesche he can score he can hit he gets 60+ points , puck moving D man .
Here’s a thought why not trade Morgan Reilly straight up for Zadorov? You’re not losing anything offensively but a huge upgrade on clearing the front of the net.

As for marner , they need certainty as to what his plan is, if he won't sign at all this summer then he needs to go, nylander and matthews had no issues extending
They won't be able to move Marner. They have enough cap space for 2 good and 1 average player. Next off season is when Tre makes big changes.
