The forwards will get done next, because there are tons of D in free agency, so the draft pick might have to used to get the forwards, and the draft pick expires next week. So Fitz should be adding a forward any day now.

Extend him at 7Yrs at 8 or 8.5M and add Schmid if it has to get it done. And I’d sign Edmonson to help Luke big body smart simple D pairs would look like..

"Too little too late"? It's more like better now than never. I don't think Fitzgerald is any good, but now, late as it is, he understood he had to do something.

The bald guy is wrong. Fitzy is responsible for the best season we had in 2023. Doesn’t matter that there was 1 bad season and also had hockey Canada issues and injuries. Fitzy is a great GM and we can have a hell of a lot worse!! People need to remember 2022-2023. A lot of other fans from other NHL teams see what Fitzy is doing, liking the job he is doing in NJ. When you have fans outside your fan base saying Fitzy is doing a good job that means something. Not saying 2023-24 was good. But stuff happens and you move forward!!
I think Brady stays in Ottawa for 1 more year, they won't make the play-offs (given the state of the Atlantic division), he'll lose it with the management, and demand a trade next season.
Gm is bad for sure after losing all the best young prospects and the great bottom six they had top 3 team year before
