So an interesting stipulation to the Markstrom trade is that it's top-10 protected, meaning that if the devils are drafting in the top 10 in 2025, then the flames would get the 2026 1st round pick instead. Smart piece of business actually, and definitely justifies shipping a 1st for a guy who will probably be a back-up in 2 years. It also continues to highlight the importance of drafting in the top 10 or better…..if Gus brings something like this, I'll be ecstatic haha…although, I really loved the idea of Wally/Gus tandem moving forward after this year too.

Gus is 25, Markstrom 34. Wild might be better off not doing anything as Gus’s long term value should be better unless something so enticing comes through, you keep him. This may not happen until draft night. Your closing with Utah is a team I didn’t even consider but again, let the cards fall as you mentioned. I still feel Edmonton could be a dance partner, especially if they come up short.

Id take Kingram 👑 as a 1C goalie from Utah lol. He is very entertaining to watch in my eyes and can catch quite a hot hand. Maybe with a little better defensive structure around him (and we implement it well) he could succeed Flower on the roster.
