Dahlin hit on Hischier – Have your say!

Rasmus Dahlin drilled Nico Hischier with his rear end. There was no call on the play. Is this truly legal positional play or should it be a penalty? Tough Call will be reviewing the incident. Have your say!

  1. The leap up annoys me. If he had stayed on his feet, he'd still have crushed Hischier, but with less likelihood of hitting head. Otherwise, he had the puck, so he can basically hit anyone he wants (legally that is, still can't elbow, board, etc). This is actually an effective version of the Tkachuk butt check.

  2. Minor penalty for interference, he had the puck and let it go to make the hit, that’s dirty too, would be like skating on a breakaway with a guy coming behind you and you stop to cross check him first then continue the breakaway.

  3. Looks clean from here.. no hit from behind or being buried into the boards and let face it.. if he can get his backside into a players head.. either he's really tall (which he's not) and the other guy really short (which he's not)… or the other player ducked into it.. and Nico generated most of the impact forces here… and he deserved the 2 he got for trying to start a fight over it.. you got checked legally.. move on… stop this vigillante justice play you try to do because you got hit…

  4. I watched the game and was a bit surprised they didn’t call something at the time. I could see it going either way. He clearly stops playing the puck and turns to go east-west on Hischier to make the hit. Like I said, I don’t feel like it’s a call they should have made but was a bit surprised they didn’t during the game.

    Also, full-disclosure, I am a super-biased Devils fan 😂.
