  1. List is god awful. Fketch, Fas Times etc are dogshit. No Ghostbusters, Revenge of the Nerds, Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Stripes?

  2. Norberg: Frank….Frank!!
Frank: What is it Norberg? What are you trying to say?
    Norberg: Heroin….heroin!!
Frank: Well, I'll see what I can do, but that might take some time…

  3. I'm assuming The Princess Bride was removed as it could be considered fantasy and comedy? Because it's easily better than almost any of the movies on the list.

  4. Great list. Hard to argue all low stripes is up there in my opinion. But yeah, these are all great movies. The amazing thing about Caddyshack is, as I realized when someone posted a video on YouTube of all of Rodney Dangerfield’s scenes in Caddyshack. it was only around 10 1/2 minutes. It sure seemed like more than that. But still a great performance.

  5. Just to add a few I did not see in the comments:

    History of The World
    Major League
    Sixteen Candles
    Weird Science
    Cheech n Chong Still Smoking
    Last American Virgin

  6. "Midnight Run" is my #1 Rich. The relationship and banter between DeNiro and Grodin is GOLD, JERRY, GOLD! "Are you doing the Litmus Cofiguration?"

  7. Totally agree with your top pick, but as someone who saw these movies when they came out, I have to have Animal House and Stripes on this list.

  8. ’80s* …apostrophes are for contractions & possession; you are contracting the 19 off of 1980s where the ‘s’ is just plural for each year in the decade.

  9. I will pardon certain things that maybe aren't direcly comedies – Back to the Future, Breakfast Club and many more that are dramadies or action ,etc, but Vacation, Ferris Bueller – better than most of the list.

  10. My off the cuff Top 10 and 2nd Top 10, 1st Top 10 Grouped by personnel, not ranking
    National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
    National Lampoon's Vacation
    Fletch
    Caddyshack
    Stripes
    Ghostbusters
    Airplane
    Top Secret
    The Naked Gun
    Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

    2nd 10
    Bachelor Party
    Major League
Monty Python and the Meaning of Life
    The Blues Brothers
    Johnny Dangerously
    A Fish Called Wanda
    Weekend at Bernie's
Mel Brooks History of the World Part 1
    National Lampoon's European Vacation
    Coming to America

  11. I love Axel Foley, but I would be able to make an argument for Harlem Nights being his best movie. Love your list sir, Go Blue.

  12. Out of respect for you Rich I watched Mr. Mom for the 1st time and it was not comical at all. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a classic & for you not to have it in the top 10 or even an honorable mention is ludicrous at best.

  13. Great list. There are a lot of movies I would have put on it. The Princess Bride; Planes, Trains, and Automobiles; Stripes; See No Evil Hear No Evil; The Three Amigos; Raising Arizona; Spies Like Us; Spinal Tap. But every list will miss something.

  14. Where is Ghostbusters, Major League, Spaceballs, Princess Bride, Brewsters Millions? That's my personal top 5 and none made your list

  15. The Burbs is one of the most underrated 80's comedies, love that movie, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science?. The 80's might have been the best decade for comedies.

  16. Raising Arizona, Spinal Tap, Repo Man and Airplane. Thank you for including Fast Times. Naked Gun and Caddy Shack can drop off. When Harry Met Sally and Say Anything are two best rom-coms.

  17. Man, 80s was the golden age of comedies, wasn’t it? There are a lot of movies that you can’t believe aren’t in the top 10. Simply too many great comedies.

  18. Great list. Missed a few I would’ve expected but biggest surprise was no Major League. Best baseball comedy ever.
