Canucks GM Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has acquired a 4th round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Ilya Mikheyev, Sam Lafferty, and a 2nd round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
Vancouver is retaining 15% of Mikheyev’s salary as a part of the transaction…this equates to $712,500 per season for the next two seasons.
Obviously, I recorded this video as new of the potential trade was breaking.

Has to happen. If this happens. Almost 18-20 mil to play with once poolman goes on LTIR

It makes sense to do. Does it seem like a lot? For sure, but Detroit just paid a 2nd rounder to dump Wahlman and his 3.5m deal.

Sounds good to me. Guentzel would be nice for a couple season, but long term is sketchy. I’d rather they sign Toffoli for 2-3 years, re-sign big Z, and Joshua. Would make the team more well rounded.
They will have a chance to make their team better.
I would be a huge fan of that if they can get it done! Try to get Joshua and Zadorov back. They need size and those are 2 dudes who they know. I say pass on Guentzel.

Why would a player agree to go from a possible cup contender to a league bottom feeder unless it was contract year
Big dump. Giving away picks when we have 11 million tied up in nothing that could get us picks…we are inching fast towards being the next makemelaughs with huge contracts for nothing in the playoffs.
