Really good write-up to get the bigger picture on Buium. It's a paywall but he is stoked to be drafted here. He played a couple years in MN when he was younger so he is familiar with MN already and "…would rather spend a summer on Lake Minnetonka than the beach in California." where he was born. His coach at DU couldn't have sang higher praises if it was the Messiah himself. Pretty excited for what rounds 2 and beyond bring. GMBG is going to be COOKING this off-season. I think the bigger picture is starting to fully come together in the next year or two.

Cannot wait for the next Worst seats podcast to fully understand what this pick means..
Such a contrast from our 1st round pick last year where the entire league seemed to collectively think “why would they do that” to this year where everyone seems to be saying “this is the biggest steal of the 1st round”.
“Guerin doesn’t think Buium is far from turning pro. They’ll see how his sophomore year at Denver goes, but Guerin said his staff thinks Buium will “play for a long time in the NHL and have a big impact on our team. There’s a lot to like about him. His skill, puck-moving ability, hockey sense, character. He’s got a winning pedigree.”
If things go well, we’ll see him make his debut at the end of ’24-25.
I can’t wait.
