They need to try and keep the top 9 they had with Kane replacing foegle. Nuge McDavid Hyman Kane Leon Holloway Janmark Heinrich Brown McCloed will be there but they need depth forwards. Perry would be OK But think they can get better with other players. Also have to remember that they need to see what they have in some of the young guys coming up. Can’t just send everyone back to the minors

First: Enjoy the vacay. Some nice peaceful cabin time with your wife is in order. She probably needs to be considered for sainthood allowing for how often you were at games. If she still has both lungs and kidneys it means you love her a lot. Let her know that.
Second: I hope Leon chooses to remain (and Connor and Bouch and Janmark, Brown, Holloway, Broberg, etc.) but it really comes down to money. On this front two things to remember: #1: If they can trade Campbell it means we only have Neal on our Buyout ledger (and that for one year more ONLY) otherwise it's SIX YEARS OF PAIN for Campbell. I'd rather attach a medium asset and possibly retain a little than buy him out. #2: Darnell Nurse's NMC does NOT kick in until June 1st, 2027 and while he, Connor, and Leon are buds they may accept a move if it means a cup (or two or three). I consider #1 a GREAT DEAL MORE LIKELY than #2 BTW but hey, I mentioned it. I can't really see Henrique staying. He'd have to take a pay cut and I'm not sure he wants to.
Third: Not just Leon to Worry about. Bouch's contract expires the same time Leon's does and he will be a UFA after the current contract expires (and if you don't think he won't get paid (by the Oilers or another team) you need to check your water for hallucinogens).
Mentioned it on Brandon's latest vid but I can see them parting ways with some of the guys in the Bake who have contracts expiring. They have some up and comers and some of the Bake guys are in their 30's. You can still have a veteran presence without 30+ year olds.
A championship NHL TEAM is developed and grown collectively , NOT CONTRACTED OR TRADED INTO . This group has the focus, talent and ability to be that championship team, now is not the moment to slice and dissect, its a definitive growth potential for achieving greatness together building on this and previous years of development .
Leon is staying. I think foegele and desharnais are in the hot seat. Not sure about mcleod. Will be an interesting few years in edmonton but the big boys are lifers.
Hey Patrick, thx for being our great informant! I feel good seeing you with some smiles in your face, because it hurts us very hard deeply inside, i guess? Injuries, yes, injuries are not being planed. But it shows the intensity the opponent fights against them! Nobody is more checked than McD and Drai in that series and nobody gets more shit storm on himself as Dra for his check against Barkov, the cheater! He came out of the health protocol as quick as someone can, playing next game as new with a score. But I am proud of our Boyz giving everything in every moment of the playoffs, doing whatever they could in order to fulfill their and our dreams!! Relax, heal your wounds and come back stronger than ever!
Of those mentioned ufa's I'd like to see them try to keep Janmark, Carrick,Desharnais,Brown, Pickard and Sam Gagner. i'll especially miss Foegle yet when I imagine at what his salary might be on the open market it will more than likely exceed our cap seilings limited space, same with Henrique. Wouldn't surprise me if Perry retires & I hope Gagner doesn't consider it or follows suit. The hard choices for management will be which of the impending ufa & rfa core players to be re-signed are the Oilers going to priorize & for how much. Will there be some trades & buyouts Campbell,Kulak,Ceci & possibly Kane or RNH. Should be interesting.
Next season with Kris Knoblauch leading the charge, the Oilers should get off to a great start, and potentially win home ice advantage. That may have won the cup this year, with the amazing energy at Roger's Place, even though the big guns were injured.
If Kane is healthy and “in a good place “, he needs to find solid footing on the top 6. That would minimize having to deal for someone to play with Draisaitl. He needs better wingers than McLeod and Foegele. Here’s hoping that Draisaitl doesn’t pull a “Johnny Gaudreau” and the Oilers end up with nothing solid in return. He is the key piece in keeping McDavid happy.
Dria isn't going anywhere other then to the finals with the Oilers this coming season. To bad Holland is gone. "Best Oiler management hire since Muckler in 81" Ace96 2001 lol. If Dria won't resign by Dec 1, id be shopping him, but I don't see that being an issue. Most critical issue is who the next GM is imo.

What a bold and unifying statement it would be if all UFA, and RFA players rallied to all remain with others talking a pay cut to meet cap space .

Loved Perry but don't want him back next year too old and slow. Get Ekholms pal Arvidsson or Joshua type.
I think they should let Holland go and bring in a fresh GM. How about Jim Benning. He did a great job in Vancouver.

Can we not buyout nurse and free up a ton of cap space? Not to say nurse isn't worth 2-3mill but definitely not his 10mill.
I say trade down draft picks as much as possible to get more quantity of picks this year. Shotgun approach. You never know with later round picks.
