If NY retains on trouba and we get him for 5.5 million, AND we can send NY Holls entire contract, that’s only a 2 million difference in salary cap. So, 32 million in cap space minus 2 million for trouba = 30, minus 4 for Kane = 26 million. Call it 16 million for Raymond and Seider = 8 million in cap space. Maybe 1 million for veleno = 7 million. Now you have 7 million to sign stamkos and maybe trade husso for another goalie with a higher cap hit
Why Kane is staying doesn't matter one bit to me. He enjoyed his time here and decided to stick around. If he stay's healthy, I think he'lls be productive.

I honestly hope the wings lose all these contracts. Treating the players like trash is no way to keep good players. Yzerplan is really lacking.
Yzermans plan of selling walman with a pick shows his lack of interest/investment in Seider. Seider will crush the league and Yzerman's lack of interest to pay a good player will lose the good ones.
Andrew Copp and Berggren for Jacob and Kakko and 2nd round pick or 3 rd pick to save NYR close to five million in cap while we get rid of the 3rd year of Copp. Then use use pick to dump Husso or holl or Petry to a third team.

Players on 1 year deals that expire will clear 15 million next year with out signing any of these players to new deals before sign any free agents this year.

Trouba means nothing. Get rid of Holl and Petry and maybe our D can get better. If either of those 2 are on the team, they won't be worth watching.
There better be a lot of movement before preseason. Getting rid of our top 2 D man and only replacing with forwards means D is NOT a worry for him. Expect more trash.
1 year extension can also give them time to work out these other contracts & revisit a possible longer term deal in the future
If we're trading for trouba, more than likely Stevie's going to pay a few few teams to take that cap. Just gotta see how tomorrow goes. If we can pull Stamkos ghost a trouba, that'd be huge
