NHL Free Agency officially opens in 10 hours at 12PM EST.
NHL Insider Frank Seravalli put out a message on X a short time ago, rumoring the New Jersey Devils as one of the teams attempting to sign Steven Stamkos!
BE STILL, MY HEART!
General Manager Tom Fitzgerald needs to do EVERYTHING in his power to make this happen.
Steven Stamkos is a living legend and guys like him do not become available too often.
Stammer would IMMEDIATELY change the culture and trajectory of this young NJ Devils team.

Where would Stamkos fall? I hundred percent agree to try to get Stamkos but were would he be? With palat and Bratt? Or Hughes and bratt and move Hughes to wing?
Hea projected at 6.1 mil if you can get him for that itd be sick but not in the 8 mil range
Stamkos is exactly who I want in the locker room teaching Jack and Nico. Ondrej Palat can be helpful in recruiting him.

Stamkos will command major respect in a soft and maybe juvenile locker room.
Sometimes I think Jack is put on a pedestal, Nico is too passive, and Bratt is low energy. Steven Stamkos should grab all of their attention—star power and a resumé that eclipses…not to mention, NJ has a history trading with TBL. The Palat-Stamkos reunion. 🤔

I think stammer would really help Hughes. Nico I think has the mindset of a leader and is growing up. Hughes needs alittle more growing up and I think a player like Stammer who was and still is a Star would help him.
I'm 50 50 on stamp!! Don't hate or love it. We will see. In my head he is 34!! It could be another retirement contract! I don't want to see that

What kind of term is he looking for is the question? Signing a guy till he is 40 for 8mil or more would be a horrible choice but damn he would be good for 3 years
I want to see a veteran blueliner and a big forward more than anything. If Fitz can score JM or SS, sure, but I don't think either are needed.
