  1. Trev, I love the draft! It’s so interesting to project and wonder. I like to see what other teams do and keep a keen eye on them over the years to see if they projected to what I original thought (or projected). I was pretty in on it the last several years, but this year not so much. Interesting nonetheless.
Building a team takes a variance levels of time – depending on assets and core players with locked in contracts. So in saying that a team that’s on the brim of winning the cup, said team should trade a 1st or 2nd rounder to propel them to the top.
The reasoning is, it’s likely a 2-3 year window at best for said late round pick to come to fruition, if at all to come to expectations. There is so much parity in the league that it doesn’t allow for a team to be at the very top for 5 years. So in all of that.. timing is everything. Teams have to strike when the iron is hot….- because players’ contracts extend and they need more and more money, or, sometimes it’s ‘hold the fort’ and continue to rebuild….sometimes it can be a fine line

  2. I went from loving Zadorov to disliking him in under 24 hours, lol. If he doesn't want to be a Canuck, screw him.

  3. they went to different schools together. apparently marino is a great skater. plus every year except last season.
i think he isn't a really physical player. maybe NJ would take our 3rd this draft for him. they have too many top end d-men. must be some drawback to his game that they don't like. i trust our gm's.
