uhhhhhh has Allvin left the burner on too long?

  2. feelslifeman_

would’ve preferred Kylington but i don’t mind this

Good signing, but do you work for the Canucks? I just realized that this guys posted literally everything that’s been announced today…

  4. CrayonOlympics

On one hand he lost his job in the playoffs, on the other it’s a short deal?

Idk about this one honestly guys but 2×2 is definitely better than most of the D contracts handed out today. Let’s hope Footer can work some magic

Ok I guess? Tocch probably wanted yet another big physical depth D who blocks shots. Not the puck mover our second pair needs but ok.

Not sure why people are upset with this one. Desharnais took a really big step last year, and if he wasn’t stuck with defensive liability Nurse in the playoffs, he’d be pretty alright in easy to medium matchups. Does PK, is physical, what’s not to like?

  7. D-corps should look something like this now:

    Hughes – Hronek

    Soucy – Myers

    Forbort – Desharnais

    Juulsen

1 assist in 17 playoff games and a -9 with the Oilers, and got benched for most of the WCF and SCF, ouch

Well a right side of Myers-Desharnais sure is something. I’m not sure what the word I’m looking for is but it is something.

Feels a bit like a panic signing after the market thinned out.

Puck skill has been an issue for the bottom half of the D and this doesn’t really help there. They must really feel a lot better about Soucy-Myers as a second pairing than I do.

Oiler fan. Kind of an overpayment but not egregious. Has absolutely no offensive game but is a solid depth dman.

    Wow

AAV kinda implies that they’re confident in Soucy-Myers to be a legit second pair

Bottom 4 worked when we had a strong third pairing in Cole-Zadorov but with Desharnais-Forbort I’m not feeling nearly as confident

Interesting signing, he’s absolutely massive and not that old, which I like. He only averaged 15:44 TOI last year though, the canucks must be betting on him being able to take a big step forward, either that or we’re going to see Myers playing a lot more minutes.

  13. Allvin: “look at the size of this lad. Absolute unit. I’m in”

  14. zonkedforlife

We have to have the biggest D in the league right?

  15. Dstraka93

Well I definitely like this, big mean physical dman. Seemed like he played pre well against us iirc. Decent value, we got big again which a lot of fans my self included liked.

Edm fans seem upset they let him go that’s always a good sign. Loving what we did today. Just need to sign Silovs

  16. PatchesTheGreat1

Not a terrible signing but man, unless Gonchar, Foote and Tocchet work some magic this d-core isn’t really competing with the top of the league

  17. TheShadowFactory

This new coaching staff has worked magic on our backend – I honestly think this could be a solid gamble. Look at Edmonton’s team defence and look at ours, we have much better structure.

  18. truestlife

    Idk if he’s good but 6’7” 225 tho 😮‍💨

  19. Strict-Caterpillar38

This defense is going to be absolutely massive and I’m here for it, but I’m worried they’ll once again have trouble moving the puck out of their own end.

  20. Laika4321

He’s an ok player, but I was really hoping for more skating and puck moving from the defense.

  21. NewSoup69420

he’s definitely overpaid but he’s been good for us so i think he’ll be a good fit for this team

  22. rengorengar

hm.. Allvins had a good track record but this one is iffy lol. He was pretty bad. Oilers looked much better with him out and broberg in.

  23. Munch-Me-Later

Not gonna lie I probably would’ve preferred to run Jullsen full time as the 6d but I’m an idiot so I’ll trust JR and PA on this one

  24. Chipmunk-Adventurous

Back to average defence height of like 6’5

  25. Oh umm… lmao. Gonna be weird seeing him in Canucks colours next year but I think a hit or fight or two and I’ll be right behind him 🤣

  26. A big body like Desharnais will play well in Tocc’s system too. This is a good get.
