Which remaining defenseman do you think we go after?

With Waddell saying that we plan to sign a defenseman still.

Which remaining free agents do you think we go after?

  1. I would like to see if we could go after Nate Schmidt personally. He’s a great Locker room guy and would easily fit on the bottom pair for a cheaper deal that’s only a year or two in length.

Kylington if his health checks out. Extremely mobile and has size. He was really good exiting the zone and moving the puck on breakouts a couple years ago. If we can get him on a prove it or a short-term deal

  3. None. I’d prefer to use Laine to trade for one

Boqvist could be a solid fit. Just one man’s opinion though.

Schmidt is the only person of interest remaining but sounds like a few teams are trying to get him in. Looks like the LHD3 will come through trade.

Brodie or Schmidt IMO as long as it’s a reasonable length

  7. phaqueNaiyem

TIL there are two players named Sebastian Aho

Can’t wait for Brian Wallace on Twitter to announce in 2 days that the Jackets plan to add a depth defenseman like it’s brand new information

I mean Stanley cup winner Jack Johnson is still available. Seems like an easy choice. /s

  10. He’s not on the list but honestly? I wouldn’t mind tossing Ryan Murray a PTO to see how well his back’s healed.

I’m not normally a big fan of bringing guys back on more than like a vet minimum deal but a PTO has no risk involved, he’s only 30, and the fact that you can plug him in wherever in the lineup and he’ll find a way to make whoever you’ve got him paired with significantly better is something we could definitely use.
