  1. According to PuckPedia the caps are 14.17 over the cap which is 5+ million more then the 10% that you're allowed over the summer. Maybe they get fined or something. Obviously, day 1 Backstrom and Oshie are on LTIR. However, between now and then, I don't know.

  2. I’m curious as to your thoughts on a different matter. Do we look at Don Sweeney or the cheapskate Jacob‘s family as to why Jeremy Swayman is not signed yet?

  3. I don't have any problem with Cambell. She has a proven body of work and I don't have any doubts she'll continue to do a good job in Seattle. Anyone who has a problem with her can eat pant.

  4. This pretty much confirmed TJ Oshie is all but retired. They put Backstrom on offseason LTIR to get under the 110% of the cap allowed in the offseason but still are about 5m over. Without a cap dump Oshie will go on LTIR. This only leaves Ovechkin, Wilson and Carlson from the cup winning team from 2018

  5. I was looking at Washington's salary situation yesterday. CapFriendly is showing them at $13.3 million over, and that doesn't even count Nicklas Backstrom on LTIR. They have seven skaters at $5 million or higher (Overchicken, PLD, Wilson, Mangiapane, Oshie, Strome, Carlson and Matt Roy). Buyouts won't help much, they're gonna hafta dump a couple of players for some cheaper depth. Shannon?

  6. I love bubble prospects. Jenik and Sokolov are prime examples. Both grinding style, young, and could be those support guys you need.

  7. Great news for Campbell. I feel like there are other women quietly working their ways through the ranks that we never hear about. Another interesting one who could have been first – Drew Bannister’s wife, Katie. They eventually realized it wasn’t realistic for both of them to go into high level coaching and have a family, but she had hopes of being the first female coach back in the day.

  8. This channel is the one and only corner of hockey internet that I can count on to react positively to a woman getting a coaching job in the NHL.

  9. I don't know why anyone is surprised especially when the league announced they have too many white men playing hockey

  10. She totally earned it. So did JJ and Bronny. They all did it by themselves and not because of someone they know or some immutable characteristics.

  11. Jessica Campbell was a power skating coach at the academy I attended several years ago. She's a very impressive skater, and definitelt knows her stuff. I'm glad to see her moving up in the hockey world

  12. …and when all those teams are at or over the cap, Shannon, Anaheim and Utah will be licking their chops!

  13. I imagine alot of teams still have to resign their own RFAs, so that's going to put them close to or above the cap ceiling.

  14. I hope Campbell does well, there are plenty of women who know a lot about hockey and her success could open the door for more women in management of the sport if they are interested in the job.

  15. I get tired of all the “it’s HISTORIC because this new hire is the first [diversity checkbox] at this position!” coverage. She’s not in the position because she’s a woman, she’s there because the organization felt she was the best for the job – and she clearly has the skills to back it up.

  16. Yes, Let's go Kraken! Really excited for Jessica to get the opportunity. As one person said, she is very deserving of it. I like what we are doing here in the Emerald city. Keep it up!

  17. Leafs and Kracken look to be heading in two different directions. Leafs hire a physical coach in Craig Berube and look to be adding big physical players. With Seattle im not sure what direction they are taking.
