Unfortunate but ultimately it is what it is. Whether it was just bad development or a fundamental issue stopping him from translating to the NHL, I wish him the best.

Darn, Lou wasted him. I’ve been waiting for his arrival since 2018, loved the pick when we made it. I thought he looked good when he played for us. This is unfortunate.

He should have been given a real chance with our club last year. He played 1 NHL game and looked like more of a difference maker than a couple of guys on our roster. I understand who he is as a player and am realistic, but there were multiple times last season where we could have put him in the lineup for a real 5-6 game stretch and got a real look at him, especially on our PP.

Damn, what did I miss? Lou lost confidence?

Doesn’t matter who the GM, owner, coach, etc is, there’s no better match than the Isles and poor asset management.

The signing of maxim and duclair pushed him to not starting. Don’t blame him. Tons of skill but no physicals

He is 23 years old. He will continue to improve. There is no reason he won’t catch the eye of another NHL team down the road and really burn our asses.

He lost a lot of development time because of the Brogan Rafferty hit at UConn and then COVID immediately after. He was already pretty undersized so any loss in skill development kind of screwed him.
He did look decent in his debut so I’d have liked to see him get more of a shot but you can’t really do that when you’re a team with playoff aspirations.
