That subtraction needed before the season wil most likely be Ceci or Kane and getting either of them off the team would make the Oil better and give them the cap flexibility to add at the deadline. Vancouver, if anything, sidegraded during the offseason while EDM definitely got better.

Skinner was unbelievably shaky playing against the Canucks and that gave the Canucks a chance. He wont be playing like that again. Its an interesting perspective, and we will see how it plays out, but I think common sense would have the Oilers as a better team than the Canucks
