2024 ICNC MEN – GRAND FINAL ACT v QLD (Court 1)

[Music] [Music] ladies and gentlemen welcome to Casey Stadium for the Grand Final in the men’s division here at the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships I’m Cameron Walter and I begin today by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land on which we will compete today and I pay my respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to any Aboriginal and torist straight Islander people here today it is of course the men’s Grand Final between the Australian Capital territory and Queensland ladies and Gentlemen please join me and congratulated the Umpire will stand in today’s Final Andrew Hall vilers and introducing first Led Out by their Captain Matthew floros the defending Champions the Australian Capital territory [Applause] and there opponent Led Out by their Captain Adam mcdermit Queensland [Applause] and ladies and gentlemen on behalf of cricket Australia and everyone here best of luck to both sides ahead of the men’s Grand Final ladies and gentlemen if you are able please be upstanding for the Australian national anthem [Music] [Applause] [Music] we are one and [Music] all let sing [Music] there you have it folks The Anthem ahead of the big dance it is the men’s Grand Final between the Australian Capital territory in Queensland if you’ve just tuned in I’m Cameron Walter great to be joined on commentary by the legend Mark Harvey the man the myth the legend how are you Mark very good thank you Cam thanks for having me got the best he the seat in the house I think yeah absolutely it’s packed here at Casey stadium so this is not a bad seat to be in I’ll take you through the two lineups who are going to contest this final starting with the Australian Capital territory they are the defending Champions they are captained by Matthew floros joining him today it’s vanesh Bennett Luke Ryan Tim floros Sam DWI Brock Winkler Matt laam and Tyler Hayes a side unchanged from their massive win in the prelim Final on Thursday night for the Queensland side they’re captained by Adam mcder joining him is L tesy Rob Fitzgerald Blaine Schloss Nick Waters Reese Denis Paul draim and Murdoch Hogan that’s one change to the side that went down to the act in that major semi-final with L tesy coming in for Jaden tesy but unchanged from their win in the prelim against South Australia and the Umpire for the match is Andrew Hall vilers and well it’s the final game as I say it’s the big dance you could argue that Australia Capital territory are the hot favorites here they have won have lost the toss sorry Queensland won the toss and will bat Mark Harvey how do you see it ahead of the big final well look to be honest with you Cam you can’t fault the way act have gone through this week once again it’s sort of business as usual for them um they they’re a side that perform well under pressure and this is what’s going to win or lose this game the team that has a little bit more Poise I think at the end of the day the ones that are going to come out on on top and I I I got to be honest I can’t see Queensland really getting too close to act you know you got to you got to have a little bit of luck in Indoor Cricket but you got to create your own luck and it starts from bul number one so you know look you never know what’s going to happen but I think through experience through Poise and ability and and discipline I think act are probably going to be the favorites for sure well they’ve played each other three times throughout this week so far twice in the round games and then again in the major semi-final let’s look at those head-to-head results as we uh get set to start this match the first game Saw Queensland bat first and post just 42 runs the act and reply put on 95 the second game the ACT batted first 109 and defended it restricting Queensland to 71 and then of course that remarkable major semi-final where the Australian Capital territory put on 131 runs and then restricted Queensland to 29 uh that obviously doesn’t bode well for Queensland but no they’re at Queensland side you can never really write them off hars look you you never know but at the end of the day I mean Queensland know they have to get nothing less than 100 to be in this game um because 25 a batting pair for the ACT boys to be honest with you that’s going to come to them pretty easy the only thing I think Queensland can hope for here is that you know when act bat that they maybe have one pair that falters where they can keep it down and keep it under a 100 otherwise I mean they’re batting first look so the score on the board you know you never know in a final I guess but at the end of the day I think they’d be looking to to certainly get between 90 90 and 100 at least to be competitive yeah to your point it is a grand final there are some nerves there that sometimes aren’t Queensland have got a side with some some deep deep experience you know not the least of which includes Rob Fitzgerald who is going to open the batting with bla schoss they could count on that experience to fight some of those nerves NES maybe the act the nerves will get the better of them and the weight of expectation halves yeah well look you probably find that your experienced players are probably going to come out on front in this game it’s the it’s your six seven and eighth player even five six seven and8 they’re the ones that got to pull their weight in this so again Queensland won the toss and have elected to backs they’re going to open with Rob Fitzgerald and bla schoss Luke Ryan has the ball in hand the Umpire Andrew Hall vilers says play the 2024 men’s Grand Final Starts Now two runs to Fitzgerald to open the Queensland account two very experienced players here ly Ry and Fitzgerald teammate in the Australian side yeah schoss gets a single from his first delivery I think that’s what Queensland have to do though they’ve got to grit this out no matter how ugly it gets they’ve just got to grit it out and try not to get too many dot balls but really important to get those singles at the same [Applause] [Music] time there aing Good Start [Applause] yeah a top ball there the first one for the Innings I’ll tell you what it’s standing room only here isn’t it it is it’s absolutely packed here at Casey [Applause] ium that’s a great ball by luk Ron pretty tight for the Queens land boyss already third ball big opportunity here early in the match for the Australian Capital [Applause] territory just gets enough on it bla schoss they get through for the single and we’re underway here four five runs rather from the first over an even contest that we’ve seen yeah absolutely look I you know also the difference C in this is act boys are extremely good Fielding side that’s what they’ve been practicing for years and years years and years and they do it so well they do a lot of training a lot of they emphasize a lot on fielding and you know if you get your bowling right well it certainly brings their fielders into play and there’s no room for error when you’re [Music] batting it’s going to be Brock Winkler to Bow the second over Sloss will face [Applause] it’s out a good we chance it’s out the first Wicket Falls Luke Ryan’s not going to miss out on that the Australian Capital territory pumped they’ve grabbed their first Wicket not a lot wrong with a shot but it’s gone straight into into Luke’s Vision he slapped it down and they claim the first Wicket Brock Winkler doing the job for the ACT and look just as we spoke about the Fielding it comes into play I mean they are a brilliant Fielding team and that’s why there is no room for error but you know it it helps when you’ve got eight pretty good Bowlers on the field too it doesn’t it just oh full oh it’s no ball don’t know about that [Music] one so the no ball plus the two four runs and Orit races that wicket pushes it down leg side a couple of freebies here to follow up the Wicket it’s not often you see uh the ACT boys bow leg side or wide beautifully ball six runs on the board with two balls left in this over this is what I’m talking about with with pressure I mean there one ball remains now in the second [Applause] over act looked to keep every partnership under in the teens yeah under 20 oh that is just brilliant batting there from Rob Fitzgerald not a lot wrong with the ball that’s uh Rob fitzg shows his class yeah five runs from the over despite the loss of that Wicket moved to 10 Again fairly even here in the men’s final it’s really important to get off to a good start too when you’re a bowling side to try and stop that momentum from going forward you know we always know when you see a partnership of 30 31 that gives the second bat and pair you know a little little bit of breathing space but also the confidence to go forward with that you don’t want to be sitting on 60 after 8 but 10 at the moment of two overs I mean act doing it well here’s Sam dwire good shot from Fitzgerald Shan at the body it [Music] [Applause] safely a run backward of square for Schloss that’s what you got to do you’ve got to just Edge away try try and avoid dot balls try and get every single you possibly [Applause] can that’s tight bowling and that is respect for Matt floros as well no interest in that run when the ball is near his hands oh another great delivery same has Rob Fitzgerald on third ball so those two dots consecutive dots in a partnership they have to score off the next delivery or they’ll be [Applause] out up and taken Brock wiggley got one hand on it knocked it into the net and they cash in here Sam Dwight strikes for the ACT this is what they managed to do act always get the Wicket at the right time so they’re they’re putting the batting side always Under Pressure always creating opportunities you don’t have to take every opportunity but if you can get a wicket every over it’s going to make it very difficult for the Queensland boys one ball remains for DWI and it’ll be a DOT ball he finishes with one forg -2 from that over and Queensland still in the single digits with one over to come there’s still plenty of time for them to get past those teams that you talk about but the bowling from the act at the moment is Rock Solid it’s pretty tight yeah look at you know look see if they can build it up to around the 13 15 maybe at the end of the four I still think they’re going to be well short you know you um look it’s a difficult one because we just know act so well they’ve been there for many years and they such a there such a final side you know and it doesn’t matter if it’s round one or a grand final nothing changes with them they’re so methodical in the way they go about things Matt lean will bowl over number four four it’s width there and Fitzgerald uses it to grab [Applause] two they got to make sure they stay in at least the double [Applause] figures straight to Matt Flores no run they just give you no room do they [Applause] oh pushes it wide he’ll get the runs and the ball [Applause] again with the again Tim Forest keeps it off the net it’ll be a single I mean that’s what we talked about at the start of the game is you now they got to avoid these dot balls and just try and grit it out and get those singles and try and build it up a little bit great shot from Fitzgerald he’s always going to get two there he’s a competitor Fitz here KN 15 so that’s not too bad I mean if they can finish on say maybe 17 18 here but not with bowling like that [Applause] one to come in the partnership now on the money again finishing with two dot balls 15 runs from the opening partnership for Queensland I’ll probably feel that’s a little bit below par particularly against this act outfit but despite the loss of a couple of wickets they still competitive here in this final folks if you’ve just tuned in it is the men’s final here at the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships Queensland up against the defending Champions the Australian Capital territory I’m Cameron Walter alongside Mark Harvey and uh J it’s just going to be fascinating doing this isn’t it oh look you like you said cam I don’t think 15’s enough I mean Queensland probably would have been hyping for around about 22 23 Mark so they’re about you know Poss probably around 7 8 nine runs short of where they wanted to be but having said that it’s they’ve played right into act’s hands that’s that’s exactly what these guys want so paulheim and REE Denis at the crease now Tim Flores has the ball in hand and we’re ready to resume the action here in the men’s final starts full and wide Dennis gets ban on it but it’s straight back to Tim Flores I’m not sure if this is a game plan you can sort of uh Implement against the AC act boys but I I’d almost be aggressive and just try and hit out a little and if it works it works I mean no risk no reward indeed through for a single the ball falling safely out of the reach of Luke Ryan we’ve got mcdermit the Queensland Captain who obviously bats last can can hit a little bit out can [Applause] indeed short and at the body of draim does well to keep it down so difficult to get that away yeah such an attacking [Applause] delivery and there is no real weakness that’s the thing there’s nothing to look forward to when you’re batting is there squ him up called through by Denis they’ll get one [Applause] a it’s too good from Dennis he’s such a good batsman for that particular ball the way he gets his body in position to do that it’s incredible that’s a great shot there it’s a difficult shot to play and it’s really well [Applause] played oh draim finds three what a great finish to the over seven runs from it an excellent start for this pair particularly though one do one better start than that from these two I mean to get seven look if they if these boys can dig out of 20 22 24 that’s exactly that’s all you’ve got to try and do you just got to try and put a competitive score on the table here because we know act are uh are a run machine side they will score and Under Pressure doesn’t matter what you B they’re a very patient side so they don’t run on everything that they they know when to run on when not to so you’ve got to build this score up Brock Winkler will Bowl his second [Applause] over short and wide it’s a no ball for height easy runs it’s a gift for the batters [Applause] Bing another great shot from draim it’s the side net first four runs big runs here for Queensland well that’s what we spoke about earlier too cam is the fact that you know you’ve got to try and be aggressive I’m not saying every Ball but Pi pick and choose but that’s what you need to do oh it’s a wide and also forces the bow to think about where he’s going to bowl again so it does muck up their game plan a little bit two leg Sid so far from from Brocks over excellent two playing it this time on the offside from JIS two balls remain they’ve got 10 runs off the over already they’re away this [Applause] pair it’s making your total now look a little bit more respectable at 32 oh how that didn’t get through the gate I don’t know nor [Applause] I chance oh a hit I think Dre would have been home he’s pretty quick and it’s a single off the last ball and 11 off the over an excellent one for Queensland and this partnership placed really well now they can get the score to somewhere around 50 and Queensland are well and truly in this game this is probably the partnership they’ve made a really good start the AIM now is obviously no outs even if you got a few dot balls in there it’s really important to try and build on this we always say momentum’s a big thing in Indoor Cricket so it leads into the third pair into the fourth pair Tyler Hayes to Bow the seventh [Applause] over good start jez Bob W this week I actually reckon he’s picked up a little bit of a yard from last year yeah he’s a solid boy isn’t he he [Applause] is that is unbelievable batting from draim what a shot it’s the second time he’s done it six runs from Two Shots I think that’s what you’ve got to do you’ve got to take the game [Applause] on it’s flat but was in the Gap Dennis will take two scoreboard continues to build here for Queensland it’s really good that there’s been no outs too because they got to stop that momentum invas getting wickets it’s a really important factor of the [Applause] game so wide four or five leg Sides Now by the ACT boys is it yep something like that it’s good sensible batting you’re not going to be too far away from The Mark here K 40 [Applause] 42 final ball the over for Tyler Hayes great delivery it’s a DOT to finish still another excellent over there for Queensland nine runs from it this partnership on 27 still with an over to come I think if any batting pair can get a 30 plus against act you’ve done real well oh yes and that brings it back on par you know we talked about you know the 100 Mark if you can be around the 50 51 52 perhaps after 8 it’s you know even though we had a low first batting pair we’re back on target now so that’s 100 that they’d be looking for the Australian Capital territory Skipper Matt Flores will bow the final over to the [Applause] partnership a single from the first ball does draim still pretty safe it’s important to have those soft hands to get the ball up high just to give you every every opportunity to get down the other [Applause] end oh oh that has not missed by much tell you one thing I’ve noticed this week too is that as the ball gets a little bit older and gener and this is not normal after around about eight or nine overs it tends to flatten out a little bit they have got a little bit softer excellent shot from danis two runs on the onside using his feet sitting on 30 now this is a great second [Applause] partnership too good from floros there still plenty of intent from Jim I don’t mind saying that no [Applause] to check his shot now finish the partnership on third ball I think he was whing up a little bit then was yeah the score will have to change on this delivery final ball of the partnership wicketless so far oh and he’s put the ACT Skipper into the back court for four a 34 run second partnership for Queensland they are right in the hunt here in the men’s final it’s the 2024 Indoor Cricket National Championship folks we’re here thanks to the city of Casey our major partners and our thanks to them for their support of this tournament if you’ve just tuned in I’m Cameron Walter alongside Mark Harvey and Queensland 49 at the halfway stage they will be feeling very happy about that haves well you picked it cam you know you said if they could be 50 around about the 8 over mark I mean that partnership was was beautiful they took a couple of risks it paid off and like I said I think that’s what you’ve got to do against act you you have to be aggressive if you’re going to go back into your show it forces the error so you must you when given the opportunity you’ve got to take it on and we see a four two threes and all of a sudden you scores 34 and they’re back on track it’s going to be Luke Ryan now to Bow the first over to the partnership it’s Nick Waters at the striker end L tesy at the other end for Queensland and here’s Luke Ryan Waters finds two off the first ball it’s amazing when you get a good batting partnership the confidence that it gives the new batters into the into the game you know it just they want to do well they want to try and build it up for the fourth pair [Applause] Matt Flores onto that like a flash the run out at the top end was a live option let’s have a look at [Applause] this the throw wide tesy would have been out oh he’s such a brilliant [Applause] Fielder oh another off opportunity there to throw from Tim Flores this time too high well they’ve got to work hard with this because let’s be honest LA’s not the quickest between wickets so therefore it’s up to his partner to make sure that he um he BPS it up nice and high and gives him time to get down the other end goes to hand so stays off the net it’s a single nonetheless [Applause] things as to you look at a lot of the ACT boys they might not get a wicket in their two overs but if they if they’re going no Wicket for 10 of two overs oh there it is chopped on Luke Ryan gets a wicket that’s the first Wicket in what about five overs there for the ACT and it comes at the right time got the sense that Queensland would get ging some of the ascendency the ACT strike you can always rely on LY Ryan to come back into the game okay cuz they just getting a little bit away there with six or seven off that over and brought them back to one oh another great delivery sh unbelievable player Luke Ryan one run from that over fascinating viewing here in the men’s final hope you are enjoying the coverage and we shout out to calling all sports a broadcast partner Jaden producing the show for us doing a great job as usual uh vanesh Bennet I’ve asked a couple of times throughout uh the week how many times he’s come out of retirement got the official word from him the other day twice it’s only twice is it only twice it feels like more and here he is still competing at the highest level absolute legend of the game no doubt in of cricket yeah no doubt in my mind a future Hall of Famer here he is finds the two net backward of point was tesy it’s great to see guys like L tesy and vinish Bennett you know still playing at an at a well there’s no better than this this is such a high level absolutely oh it’s out is it oh Andrew H vilus has a good look at it will do the same no spot on by the look of that at least from that angle here’s the reverse angle yeah gee how slick was that [Applause] Fielding oh bow so tight I mean it looks easy to bowl six balls in exactly the same spot doesn’t it it looks easy look being the operative word sneaks it in it’s a DOT ball it will be third ball for L tesy if you knew to Indoor Cricket how that works is two consecutive dot balls within a partnership next ball is called third ball the batting side have to score or they lose a wicket oh it’s a wide they run anyway it’ll be three well that’s sometimes a bit of a PL by the by the bowling side you know you give two you get the third ball and then all of a sudden one de they feel like they’ve got a run puts pressure on the batters that probably would have been a leg side I would have thought had he not moved out so he had to go with the flow then safe single and brings the over to an end seven runs from it so a good one for Queensland who dotted up in the middle of it but scoring otherwise and uh and move to eight now with two overs to come G every over from here on in just crucial oh yeah look act have bought themselves back into the game I mean you know let’s balance it out it’s four each over I mean if you do that they’re looking at around about 16 I I still think they’re on par act and you never know with queensland’s last batting perir that could if they MC D’s normally very aggressive so you know all of a sudden you get another 30 32 partnership these guys can hang around the 15 to 17 Mark they’re in the game here’s leam straight to DWI who throws down the sticks waters run out at the top end and Australian Capital territory strike again all the Time in the World Direct Hit and a big Wicket and I want to talk hares about the field setting because I’ve been critical when other sides have done this throughout the week this onside field that they have here Brock wickler just in front of the fre line Sam DWI level with the stumps come back to it no run it requires such tight bowling for that field to be effective and the AC see if there’s ever a side that’s going to Boulder this field it is the side we’re looking at right now yeah look it’s been it’s been more prominent this year than any other year has it has another dot ball and it’s changed the game a little bit you know teams Now setting I mean we’ve done the same in South Australia we’ve setting Fields back a little bit for that exact exact thing this will be third ball here so another opportunity here for the ACT lean ball rolling his second over oh and they’ve done it again the ACT let’s take a look at this on the replay beats tesy a little bit of a Juggle from Tyler Hayes but plenty of time to affect the Wicket and that’s it’s important we keeps do that they keep their head they don’t snatch at the ball he done just start and another Wicket Falls look that’s always going to happen you have to clear the field of CT you cannot oh it’s just like that you can’t put it within a half a meter of them because they will grab it they are the best Fielding side in this [Applause] competition it’s the beauty of them you know they continue to Boulder their field yes all the time last ball for lean to no ball off the pitch to finish the over it’s still an excellent one for the act two for -6 from it and this pair in some trouble here just two runs on the board they will need a fight back from their last over it’ll be the 12th over of the match they need to get into double figures harves yeah look not that I want to tell Queensland what to do but it’s our job mate commentator today look I probably would have sent mcder and his partner in third to try and keep that momentum to G because if you’ve got two partnes a 30 odd all of a sudden they’re sitting in maybe after 12 12 overs they’re sitting on the 80 this pair could have come in last and maybe finished off with a 12 or 13 15 even maybe and that probably would have put them up there I I think a few uh few of our viewers uh share that view uh you I thinking about this actually because I had a similar question a women’s game whether you change your lineup based on what’s happened you have to consider the impact that might have on a pair mentally if you say oh we’re going to bump you down the order as well so yeah I’m always in two minds about that see uh two there for tesy I me we train we train for BLS to batter anywhere yeah so you should be able to throw a pair in that maybe bat fourth they can open they can go second third doesn’t really matter doesn’t change a lot I know batters tend to feel more confident in certain positions in the in the batting lineup another two here for Nick Waters vanesh Bennett bowling his second over score back to seven for this partnership it’s all well in h highight though isn’t it you know they tend to toss it around a little bit in round games because if you’re chasing skins you’ve got that opportunity to you know to flex it around a little bit I think when you’re batting first so I mean the name of the game is obviously you got to get more runs on the board so once again that’s attacking as far as I’m concerned great shot from tesy to find the offside net for [Applause] two it’s a single through the keeper net to close out the partnership they get back to 10 a diving L tesy at the keeper end there there was half a chance for a run out but uh they’re in the game here Queensland they lost a couple of wickets in the first and third over of that partnership tesky and wat is able to get it back to double figures and it’ll be Adam mcdermit the Queensland captain and Murdoch Hogan to bat last in this opening Innings of the men’s final here at the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships it’s all thanks to the city of Casey big finish required here from Queensland oh look look they Queensland would be hoping they’d be sitting around about 70 right about now that would be ideal I mean look you’re never out of a game I’ve seen some strange things happen in Indoor Cricket and that’s the beauty of this game is you know it runs for about an hour and a half and it’s just it’s totally full on you have to be you have to concentrate for every single delivery these guys can hit a 30 all of a sudden the scores change it’s going to be defendable so mcder and Hogan at the crease here’s Tim floros the last pair underway right at the legs of mcdermit start with a DOT the other thing about acts they don’t panic they don’t panic when something gets a little bit out of hand oh Tim FL goes through the Queensland captain and they strike early in this last pair just have a look at this he shuffles back then goes forward and trying to get on top of that ball he’s played over the top of it and Tim Flores knocks him over oh go back to what I said in about the eighth over about the ball keeping a little bit lower balls have changed a little bit this year they are a little bit flatter so generally from there I mean there’s the same sort of delivery that one got up a little bit higher but the last one to be at stunt level and it was a relatively short ball yeah yep I agree that’s spot [Music] [Applause] on chance needed to hit I don’t know what Adam mcdermitt’s questioning the Umpire for luaran was Fielding the ball no no issue there yeah at all it’s actually it’s actually incumbent on Adam McDermot to avoid him yeah so and you know you could make the case that because he collided with Luke Ryan I mean they’re touching gloves everybody’s happy but make the case he’s done that that he’s impeded the Fielder yeah so if anything and I think that’s what the discussion is if anything it’s uh Luke Ryan that should be arms out yeah well Luke Ryan had every right to fi that ball 100% two balls remain for Tim floros oh through again two in the over Tim flest knocking over the Queensland Captain let’s take a look at this one wow what a start to the final pair so that ball was just short of a good length again and rolls through it stump high so that’s my theory a little bit on going back a step maybe uh walterson and leki tesy should have bettered last I think it would have suited the other way around there a chance little bit of two fielders feeling the ball there the through oh he’s called out he has he’s called that four yeah uncontrolled yeah I don’t know about that because he actually grabbed the ball and flicked it so he’s grabbed the ball and flicked it I think yeah ordinarily I I get that because it hasn’t gone to the stumps but because he’s got the ball in his hand yeah and done that that’s control yeah um so a little let off there for Queensland I mean great over by act to start that one off anytime you can keep a batting pair in the minus I mean they are as far as I’m concerned they are well on top at the moment so it’ll be Sam DWI here it’s first over one for -2 here he is to the Queensland Captain wide stance he follows him Sam DWI and it’s a leg side I’d be sticking with that theory with the ACT boys if they can keep it just short of a length they’re not getting the bounce I don’t think MC’s reading it too well at the moment oh it should be out oh just almost too good from Luke Ryan but the throw he had more time I think could have got that to Tyler Hayes and that’s what it’s done it’s actually put a little bit of uh it’s it’s a little bit of negativity in his mind in MC D’s mind so now he’s just padding at that not playing through the ball no interest in a run there Brock Winkler swooping on [Applause] it so that was a bit quicker a bit shorter and it’s still didn’t really get [Applause] up this is where something like this might suit hazy I think hazy still got one over to go keeper [Applause] yeah at the body M dermit tucks it around behind Square just wait for the call from the Umpire it is two one ball remains now for Sam dwire [Applause] not finding the net but it’s a safe single and seven runs from that over good one for Queensland so far they’ve kept three Partnerships a current partnership and two others at around 29 we’ve got one Partnership of 34 so you have to score a minimum of 26 27 runs against this team they will bury you yeah going to be that man Tyler Hayes to ball the 15th here he is to Murdoch Hogan attacks the stamps called through grab a single off the legs hazy Ball’s fairly full so I’d like to see him just bring it back a little bit just to see if he can skid that one throw get underneath mcm’s [Applause] bat that’s better I think both batters have picked that up now that it’s not bouncing as high so therefore the the twos aren’t an option anymore it brings them back to the single zone [Applause] there’s another one of [Applause] [Music] them certainly no Panic from the ICT legs [Applause] finish has his funny little ways for stumps at time doesn’t he [Applause] does playay missed weight going away from the ball yeah and one ball remains now for Tyler [Applause] Hayes nearly goes through they will start the final over on third ball it’s going to be the ACT Skipper Matt Flores to bowl it the score on 68 I tell you what it’s you can just never ride a Queensland side off you you know that they may be below par in terms of what we think that this act side can score but I just just seen it so many times over so many years it doesn’t matter whether they’re favorites or not Queensland sides they have just got experience at winning and sometimes they can well look there’s certainly going to be no room for error when they bowl no because their fielding and everything has to be absolutely topnotch and that’s that’s my point har I just think they’re capable of that it’s uh Matt Flores to Bow the final over they are on third ball they have to score off this delivery it’s Captain to Captain here in the final backs away grabs two uh single rather it hit the keeper [Applause] net look could be nice for Queensland to end up in about 80 oh definitely still under power I think but 80’s extremely competitive oh oh head [Applause] [Applause] Edge good batting from Hogan grabs two move into the 70s now again I I just feel like this is something that Queensland will feel like they can defend big runs in a final look of a five or a seven would go stray right here oh yeah well if it hadn’t hit Hogan it would have gone straight to Tim foros so two balls remain in the Innings it’s the first time I’ve seen seen MCD be aggressive in this and try and drive [Applause] shot one ball remains now in this first Innings it will be a single and Queensland batting first have posted 74 in in the Grand Final the Australian Capital territory will have to get 75 to defend their title folks it will be a thrilling conclusion to the men’s division here at the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships hope you are enjoying the coverage we’ll take in some highlights uh and I’ll recap what’s happened so far today it’s uh been all Queensland folks the under 22 women’s Grand Final New South Wales against Queensland Queensland prevailing 111 to 82 down to 22 men again New South Wales in Queensland Queensland 99 to 80 and then Queensland again to got 109 and keeping Victoria to 73 so uh it’s been of Queensland Fest at the moment the ACT will be hoping to break that streak if you just tuned in I’m Cameron Walter with me as Mark Harvey uh haves you said they’d be aiming for 100 you feel like they’re under par what are your thoughts of where the game’s at well I’ll stand by that cam because I think I think you need a 100 against look because if you score triple figures against act all of a sudden that puts a little bit more pressure on them at the moment I mean they would Billy the coach would be extremely confident they’ll get that with these and the thing I mean I I’m going to presume they’re going to open with uh luky Ry I’m just trying to think is it Tim far us is gloved up not sure who else I’m just trying to see if they’ve changed their batting lineup at all it’s going to be Tim flis and vanes Bennett so okay so they’ve changed a little bit so they’d be hoping for a really good start here and to be honest with you Queensland are going to be have to be really well switched on in the field and the bowling they cannot afford the first pair to get a 28 plus because that all set the tone so they did they did open together in the in the major Tim and vanes but again that was batting first so sometimes you see that change whether you’re uh batting first or whether you’re chasing so will be vanesh Bennett and Tim Flores to open the batting here for the AC again 74 on the board for Queensland you cannot count them out particularly in a grand final this is still going to take some getting from the ACT everything perhaps has to go right for Queensland Nick Waters is going to roll the opening over we’re just about ready to resume the action here it’s almost like you need two wickets in the first over to try and give them that confidence to yeah to try and get them on the back foot real [Applause] early so Queensland with the same field configuration it’s going to be Nick Waters to vanes Bennett to get us the Run Chase underway oh vanes Bennett what an unbelievable shot to start this run Chase how easy does it make it oh my word he’s very nearly run out here at the top end but what a [Applause] shot chance oh see this is the thing Queensland are a quality Fielding side as well they are going to be in the game when the ball’s not hitting that side net what’s crucial here for the ACT boys had it for years their communication between the Batters has always been [Applause] superb oh vanes Bennett stop it what class The Experience just shining through it annoys me at his age too yeah no no run [Applause] there like I said that’s a a really difficult men’s open tend to play it quite well you know you see through the the lower Grays your 22s they it’s a very difficult shot to learn but they’re so strong on both sides a great shot there from Tim [Applause] floros one ball remain remains now this opening [Applause] over sent back happy to eat up eat up a DOT eight runs from the first over a good start there for the Australian Capital territory see they they don’t rush they take their time they play their shots and eight already with EAS I might add and what do we have two dot balls in there yes yep so they keep going the way they’re going there’s a 32 partnership and that’s exactly the difference between the two team hasn’t happened yet time plenty of time for Queensland to get back into this game oh 100% all it all it will take I think you made the point about you know first over a couple of wickets but one over they get a couple of wickets it’s just going to put some doubt in the mind the Australian Capital territory here’s Paul draim the second over called through one off the legs see this is the other difference now you can see that there’s there’s an easy run there for ACT most other sides probably would have said no becomes a DOT ball they do pick up the [Applause] singles that one is a DOT such experience finish though or both of these boys for that matter [Applause] rocks back plays the paddle for down up two backward of square makes such a difference when you play the right shot you don’t have to rush between wickets gives everybody plenty of time to get down the other [Applause] end wi for Tim Flores takes advantage down up two through cover point Vish be he’d be one of the most experienced players at diving yes he reminds me of a [Laughter] seal generally mistaken for a mircat been [Applause] it oh it’s a chance deis is so good that time the disposal not at the stumps you know there’s another little bit of difference now it’s only a split second the difference with act probably would have nailed that Queens just a tag slower and other sides below the below these two a little bit slower again straight to hand it’ll be a to to finish the over seven runs from it another good one for the Australian Capital territory they’re away here in this run Chase needing 75 runs to defend their title and it’s been a tussle between the Australian Capital territory in Queensland for the title for a number of years they haven’t always been these two in the final but the last time someone other than Queensland or the Australian capital territory won the men’s title was back in 2011 when Western Australia took the title since then it’s been all Queensland and the ACT Queensland have four five six of them the ACT have uh four of them that’s why I say it’s been incredible performance by act they’ve been so dominant for so long and so of Queens Lan here’s L tesy it’s flat no interest in the Run tesy surely another future Hall of Fame just near unparalleled experience still competing at this highest level lovely V too yeah it will be third ball here an opportunity for Queensland the ACT must score off this delivery he’ll be out be a single good soft hands by Vish it’s amazing you know I think all other states are waiting for act and Queensland to come down a cold so that we can catch up but it’s You’ you’ve got to you’ve got to always try and improve 15 20% and that’s just to keep up yeah that’s just to be [Applause] competitive so has it come out of the hand right and it will be a leg side [Applause] he’s probably had more dislocated fingers than any man in Indoor [Applause] Cricket oh great shot wonderful shot from Tim floros some of the best risk control in the business his hands are just so quick I mean you can see if they don’t get a wicket too what it does show is the demeanor of the Fielding side to go down a couple percent it’s so important to try and keep the morale going even if you don’t get Wicket in the first four there’s always generally a partnership that will fail if you get it together but at the moment you know we have a look of both players sitting on 10 each 20 they’re going to finish on their 26 28 providing they don’t lose a wicket which is the perfect start for these LS yeah especially in pursuit of uh 75 Adam mcdermit I think is going to B the fourth over she uh tends to [Music] do Queensland in search of their first [Applause] Wicket I mean we always say that you’ve got to look to try and get eight wickets plus per game to stay in it or to win it um so yeah Queensland struggling at the minute but they’ve got to try and dig deep and find that first one somewhere here’s mcdermit just kept off the net needed a second effort single [Applause] yeah it’ll be a single again not finding the net to be honest with you Cam they haven’t haven’t even looked like getting out you know if you’ve created a few chances then you can sort of go okay well at least we created some chances I don’t think we’ve created one chance [Applause] yet just as I say that commentators curse is always way yeah plain Miss from Tim floros three balls remain in the [Applause] partnership through for a single again once again that’s the difference just probably been in a little bit sluggish in the field Queens land at the moment as I said they haven’t really created too many chances but it’s things like that that you need to take it at this [Applause] level driven oh it’s out what a piece of fiing from Murdoch Hogan something from nothing a wicket off the second last ball that took doing here he is diving to his right the throw a direct hit vanes Bennett took him on came up second best and have a look at the turnaround just in that so one ball to go we’re on a total of 18 the difference is they would have gone on and being 2426 so that’s just what queing land you couldn’t have ordered that at a better time one ball remains in this opening set a no ball front foot oh it’s the last thing you want to follow up with yeah [Applause] so uh they’ll get the uh they got a run as well so three runs for delivery and the ball again back to 21 last ball of the partnership called through I’ll get a single 22 is the score for the opening pair for the ACT in pursuit of queensland’s 74 it’s game on here folks in the men’s final the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships continue thanks so much for your company I’m Cameron Walter with me Mark Harvey and they’re in the game here Queensland yeah look um I think Act is still in the box seat I mean if we if we do it in pairs let’s go back into batting pairs they’re seven above par at the moment so that’s a little bonus for them this is probably going to be the partnership now I think that they probably need to get a probably a 28 at least on the board 26 28 somewhere around there and I think that’ll set them up for the run home um two pretty exper experienced batters here though um so so yeah look 22 good start but not a bad little comeback from Queensland also you know getting that Wicket in the last over certainly helped oh without question they they needed that that’s well and truly kept them in the game here and the thing for me is Queensland have that advantage of having batted first and they’ve got the 74 on the board every time something goes wrong for the act like that Wicket that just adds a tiny bit of pressure still well and truly within their grasp this total but there’s just that tiny little bit of pressure and that’s going to follow up with Rob Fitzgerald bowling opening over to Matt Lam and Sam wire for the ACT well let’s be honest no matter what score you put on the scoreboard they’ve always the opposition always has to get it absolutely it’s a matter of how you’re going to Defender Good Start experienced campaigner though Fitzy yeah just a little it’s probably another future Hall of Famer I’ve used that term a few times I should maybe I shouldn’t be dealing that out so so liberally but I don’t think it’s inaccurate for the three I’ve used it for great shot got from lean New Zealand men’s [Applause] international Sam D face his first [Applause] ball straight to mcdermit no run it’s good pressure you need act you Queens land that’s exactly what they’d be looking for they’d be looking for the doop balls to try and put them back a little bit so that they have to take a bit of a chance oh there’s probably a run there no interest that time so it’s going to be third ball now massive moment early in this second partnership the ACT will have to [Applause] score Rob Fitzgerald wants plain schoss at backward Square [Applause] leg Sam D finds the net through for two copter ball of the face for his trouble he’s a very easy going player isn’t he DW he just looks so relaxed all the time it’s uh matured well he uh I know him well I don’t know how relaxed he might feel yeah but often I mean that’s part of part of the way you deal with nerves right you might be feeling all of the pressure and all of the nerves but you don’t betray that fact yeah and you’re almost negating the effect convincing yourself as well as the opposition that you’re cool Karma collected it’s it’s a very big mental game Indoor Cricket you know we always try and uh say you know the calmer you are the more Poise that you have the better you’ll be I mean I try to encourage the F from Sou have a little bit of a laugh on court I think that just relaxes him takes a little bit of the nerve out of the game um so yeah it’s good for him I mean every time I look at Billy over there he’s always very relaxed he definitely won’t be feeling that he won’t he hides it well what you say it’s going to be Murdoch Hogan now it’s a second over they took six from the first here he is to ball over number six it’s right off the legs of Sam D they think about a run sent back will be another dot [Applause] ball another dot off the legs of DWI and he’s an unusual bowler hoges yeah I know a lot of our batters found it a little bit difficult to bat against him they’re not quite sure he bowls at that little niggly length that’s a real difficult ball to get away it’s third ball here he startt it up Sam dwire an opportunity here he did the did the job in the field can he do it with the ball here [Applause] Hogan oh doesn’t great delivery it was a great delivery it’s unrewarded Murdoch Hogan why getting away with a single it’s frustrating when you’re a bowler sometimes you know you can bowl several good balls and then it just takes one and goes to the back net you just think oh yeah sent back Co these two not scoring freely at the moment it’s enough for Queensland to maintain some pressure here in this second pair [Applause] so wide kept low yeah there’s been so many people that have watched live stream games this week know my young fell at home he’d be sitting home watching this he’s been putting scores in our you know in our games and so forth it’s a great shot from Matt Lam to close out the over five runs from it and uh still a very even contest in this second partnership 11 on the board this pair will be desperate to post more than 20 and get them more than halfway the Australian Capital territory still plenty of batting depth to come yeah look I think it’s um I don’t think AC uh sorry Queensland would be too unhappy at the moment they would have liked to have generated a little bit a few more chances the chances that they’ve had they’ve only had one Poss maybe two or three genuine chances and I think they’ve taken two of them so they got two wickets or one just the one yeah I think we need a little bit more than that shot from lean two twos in a row for him and this is the beauty of act they work so hard to get whether it be dot balls or just the singles they grit it out and all of a sudden you don’t even have to take much notice of the scoreboard it just builds up itself oh Sam dve playing across the line Denis bows him a huge Wicket for Queensland if they can stay on top of this pair they will stay on top in the game I don’t know every time I’m mentioning this they get a wicket I me done it twice they got two wickets back to eight now the second pair [Applause] oh what a response from DWI down up two square leg amazing the enthusiasm one Wicket yeah see the response from the Queensland boys just saying you’ve got to be like that for the whole 16 overs [Applause] played missed outside off no feet there from laam two balls remain [Applause] now straight to Nick Waters no run and it’ll be third ball to complete the over so again the score has to change [Applause] a wicket right now for Queensland would be extremely [Applause] handy gets to the net for two just one run from the over and uh this pair in a little bit of trouble here a massive overcoming up in the context of this match it’s going to be Adam mcder to bow it I think we mentioned you know before that there’s going to be one partnership where they need to keep really low um and it’s probably not a bad move uh mck coming on now because he’s one of their quality Bowlers obviously be looking for a wicket or two in this if they can keep act under double figures in this pair they certainly back in the game here is the Queensland Captain the final over of the partnership good early call there get through for [Applause] two that’s great bowling he’s a [Applause] competitor [Applause] 100% swinging a Miss it’s going to be third ball again big opportunity here Queensland with AC needing to score [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Edon should be out it is a huge Wicket late in this pair they’re back in a single digits and Queensland on top here in the men’s final that’s a really good play by MC he sort of set him up really in a way there probably I mean d know that not a not a great shot but that certainly put them back into the [Music] [Applause] game two balls remain in the partnership can Queensland grab another [Applause] Wicket a do one ball remains a great [Applause] [Music] [Applause] over what an over from the Queensland Captain takes a wicket minus three from it the second partnership managing just single figures and Queensland well and truly in the match here 31 on the board at the halfway stage in pursuit of Queensland 74 and the ACT Captain Matt floros will take to the court now with Brock Winkler with a little bit of a rescue mission amount here it’s certainly not panic stations for the Australian Capital territory they need 44 so 22 a pair to win from here absolutely very getable but the thing for me Queensland are bowling a lot of dot balls and they are up in the field so act are going to have to play almost the perfect game from here if they want it back without any pressure well the last two pairs have probably you know there’s full of experience there obviously and closing with Luke and and hazy I I just I still think act are right out there but you you never know I mean Queensland have been besides a space there of probably around about three or four overs where they looked a little bit lackluster you know every time they seem to come up with a W they come up with a wicket at the right time that’s all you got to do in this game 100% here’s tesy to floros starts with a wide they don’t have many runs to play with Queens l so can’t afford too many of those no you got to be spot [Applause] on oh as a single the run out was in [Applause] play I’ve been saying this all week about the ball keeping low someone’s got to believe [Applause] me Winkler will face his first ball oh [Applause] straight to hands it should I cannot believe it they’ve gotten away with it the AC straight to the hands of Janice two batters in the middle of the Court the throw is wide you we spoke about this cam they’re the ones that you can’t afford to not get you’ve got to get those two runs to Matt floros and one ball remains in the opening over of this Premiership quarter can always tell a little bit of nerves when a batsman tends to Pat rather than follow through and and play the shot we’ve got that with these two batters just at the middle the little bit of Doubt no run there the ball in the hand of Denis again six run off the over though fascinating contest here between bat and ball as the pressure mounts on both these sides just seven overs remain in the tournament and act will their halfway to queensland’s Total it’s going to be bla slos to come on and ball thing I will say I don’t reckon at any stage during this week at the start of the 10th over have you seen act on 37 so Queensland have done pretty well cuz right about now they’d be sitting on well they’ve hit multiple scores of over 100 yeah this this week now we’re not going to say that they’re going to do that every time including a final finals are a little bit different but uh Queensland have done really well to be at this stage chance got a touch on it draim it’s two to the ACT skipper [Applause] [Applause] great shot great shot from Brock Winkler presents a full face of the bat down up two on he’s offside you couldn’t get a more technically correct [Applause] shot kept off the net by Queensland it’ll be a single both of these boyss are middling the ball well [Applause] driven to hands no [Applause] run a brock Winkler unbelievable batting he’s been player of the final on multiple occasions and just showing every reason why that glorious three one ball to come in the 10th B great two overs and now backing it up with the bat this time Matt floros grabs two an excellent over there for the Act 10 runs from it it’s only going to take a couple more of those halves and they’ll gain the ascendency here I think what’s interesting for me is as a spectator of this game I feel all of the pressure the ACT are feeling think oh wow they they’re in a tough spot here but the experience that they have they are probably feeling okay about where they are they’d be comfortable they I don’t think they’d be they they certainly wouldn’t be panicking too much I mean you know let’s let’s let’s High the scores a little bit let’s just say Queensland we 100 and it means act you’re sitting on around about 6065 somewhere around there in the same sort of setup there they still be pretty comfortable I I there’s no need for them to rush this at all they’ve just got to go about their business now and they should take care of this pretty easy here’s Nick waters for his second over that’s a good start [Applause] say another dot so two of them in a row they’ll have to score now of this delivery the ACT another opportunity here for the Queensland side to strike good [Music] pressure driven a deflection and Murdoch Hogan does the tidying up keeps it to a [Applause] run and what Queensland got to worry about to is you’ve got luky Ryan and hazy to come in last yeah and both batters are very good drivers especially hazy yeah so he’s an aggressive batter and and ly Ryan he knows when to do it when not to do [Applause] it great shot from wikler again it’s a single this time but a safe [Applause] one mve now to 49 with eight balls remaining in the partnership [Applause] straight to mcdermit no run I’m just looking at the ACT bench it looks pretty relaxed projecting [Applause] calm final ball of the 11th it’s flat they run it get through for two and what a tied over that was from Nick Waters just four runs from it they move now to 20 and a crucial over coming up here for both sides I mean they’re all crucial but the act now just 24 runs away if they get another 10 off this they’ll have the well and truly have the ascendency heading into the final partnership yeah look we’ve seen it in the last two batting pairs it’s been a wicket in their last over which has got them back into it and there’s no more experience than F50 coming on for the for the 12th over here oh we’ve seen him do it so many times be the spark that lights the fire for [Applause] Queensland so 51 on the board with five overs to come in the final there are no [Applause] tomorrows act boys have to make sure the last batting pairs coming in chasing probably not much more than about 20 18 16 somewhere around there would be nice oh it’s through are they running oh there’s a hesitation the right decision in the end but gave Queensland an opportunity here it was back and forth unreal a better throw Direct Hit would have had him there oh great shot it’s wonderful batting with nerve at protecting the net keeping it to one every run crucial in the dying stages of the [Applause] tournament oh lovely [Applause] shot indeed it is another two to the ACT skipper so now we’re down to the 18 Mark for the next pair so this pair has set it up really really well no wickets [Applause] here finds the net again winlar another two two balls remain in the partnership he’s played that shot so well throughout this Innings he’s an absolute gun Brock Winkler can Fitzgerald produce one here for Queensland through for a single one ball remains great soft hands for medy Flores here [Applause] oh what a finish for Brock Winkler that is an excellent partnership for the ACT 30 runs in the Premiership quarter and the final pair now will need 14 runs to win a National Title and defend the national title for the Australian Capital territory folks settle in for this it’s going to be a thrilling finish to the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships if you’ve just tuned in you’re watching an amazing final I’m Cameron Walter alongside Mark Harvey and uh it’s uh going to come down to the wire it’s only quite un quite only 14 runs here halves but the pressure of a final a Queens a resurgent Queensland side they were destroyed in the major semi-final they’ve turned this into an exhilarating contest it’s game on here well look they they Queensland LED themselves down in that in that before because they did have two or three chances there which they didn’t take the difference between a 20 and a 30 and that’s giv now act boyss a little bit of room for a bit of comfort i’ always like to be in front at the end of the yeah the 12th over but still this pair here is as we know through experience they are good for a 30 plus want again I mean I’d like to have a look after the first one or two overs against these i’ all almost I’d almost tempt both these two to try and hit out a bit maybe get something if you’re not creating anything in close maybe set the field back a little bit and try and get them to you know entice him to have a crack that come off the side net so Luke Ryan and Tyler Hayes at the crease 14 runs required for the ACT Mur Muro Hogan will bow the first over to the partnership such an important tone setting over here for Queensland [Applause] here he is to Luke Ryan starts well it is a DOT ball this is where he can be a tricky little bowler now even without getting a wicket if they can restrict this little pair to four off the first [Applause] over chance it Dives and give it out I don’t know about that one the bat was upside down so that may be what’s caused it to be out and I think you find it is in the air let’s have another look the bats in the air yeah that’s out that’s an amazing call absolutely isn’t it absolutely and immediately pressure back on the ACT and now need 19 you could not ask for a better start for this pair for coin Le [Music] [Applause] through for a single they do this very well now if they can’t score they look to score in front by hitting it up and just rolling over and running through the ball soft hands no chance for running [Applause] out oh Luke Ryan send it the back court of four and he is pumped crucial runs there they erase the Wicket back to zero for the pair one ball to come in the 13th that’s a great shot from ly R picked the Gap [Applause] beautifully oh deflection yes no yes no it’s off the bat of the non-striker Luke Ryan H turns it into a DOT so no runs off that first over so drahim schoss who else has an over Dennis so those Bowlers their first over drahim went for seven Janus went for one Schloss went for 10 I’m not sure there’s enough five power left but you you know MCD had no choice but to spend what he had to spend at that time so take nothing away they’re all quality Ballers and that was a terrific terrific over by Hogan really absolutely so three overs Remain the ACT continue to need 14 runs it’s going to be bla schoss the ball the 14 it’s flat a chance for Dennis the direct head and out again another Wicket Falls Queensland are coming as they so often do well and truly out they are up and about so again they now now need 19 and the pressure mounts on the defending Champions this turned out to be a cracken gra foral isn’t it it [Applause] is Hayes grabs two nuk back to 58 [Music] [Applause] it’s almost to the point where Queensland need to be have this batting pair needing maybe a a 10 or or 12 something like that to get off the last over can’t afford a bow there 15 runs required 15 balls remain sent back rightly sew the ball safely in the hands of Bloss that’s where hazy is pretty strong is a fine line where to bow to him cuz he can utilize that back net [Applause] There’s an opportunity there for murn it he was on it like a flash yeah but uh act safely threw for [Applause] two back into the positives Queensland have really done it in sections haven’t they they’ve let a cut cut the Partnerships but theyve always seem to get that little Wicket right at the right time just keeping them hanging in there they absolutely do fast ball for schoss it’s a DOT ball so great over from Schloss just one run from it 12 balls remain in the final and the ACT needs 13 runs to defend their Championship sounds easy doesn’t it but being a final 12 balls to go and 13 runs to get that’s almost like trying to get um 20 off two yeah pressure’s [Music] on it’s going to be draim which means ree Denis will Bowl the final over of the [Music] match talk about pressure you know to have that last over it’s almost like when you have a penalty shootout and soccer you know the poor old goalie yeah [Applause] draim will be the penultimate over of the tournament here he is to Hayes good hands there in the front Court loss keeps it off the net it’s just a single I’m not sure the communication level at the moment’s great between these two normally they’re pretty solid there’s a little bit of but that’s been forced on by the pressure of quand a little bit of [Applause] hesitant finds the out a chance for Fitzgerald Ryan’s home two runs they moved to 65 and 10 runs away now with 10 Falls [Applause] [Music] remaining that’ll be off the net so another single nine away nine to come what do you think Queensland two wickets they win the game uh yeah potentially even one I wouldn’t Ru that out even because hazy and ly Ryan can hit the back net so I’m but they’ve given themselves a [Applause] chance deflected into the net there was a chance Luke Ryan would have been out I think it is three runs instead let’s have a look at this yes no yeah would have been out by a meter it’s three in the book instead so six runs required now eight balls [Applause] remain Tyler Hayes finds are comfortable too they move into the 70s for the first time four runs away seven balls remain well we said Queens man had to be right on their toes and B well well they have I have [Applause] indeed and there’s two to Luke Ryan the close out a clutch over for the ACT they move to 73 and are just two runs away from defending their National Title Mark Harvey I want to take you back to Thursday night the major semifinal the ACT beat Queensland by 102 runs they blasted them off the court who would have thought that we’d be here in the last over of the Grand Final with the ACT needing to score runs to win yeah look I certainly didn’t think they’d be in this position but all credit’s got to go to Queensland because they have kept themselves in the game all be in sections it hasn’t been the complete bowling or Fielding performance but you’ve only got to do it at the right times and the pressure they’ve put on the second partnership and the last partnership has been amazing I mean they’ve bowled well and they’ve had they’ve struck at the right time and here we see ourselves with act I wouldn’t have picked this for a million dollars to be honest with you well it is where we are it’s going to come down to the final over the 2024 Indoor Cricket national championships Queensland up against act six balls remain here is Ree Denis sent back it’s a DOT ball five balls remain two runs required I almost think Queensland only need one I feel nervous for everyone I’m not even out there yeah [Applause] it’s a chance it hits Oh I thought that hit the stops it’s two runs this is going to be a fascinating replay what knocks the bail off the [Music] ball it’s just a question of when the Bale’s dislodged look at that the baale the right hand side of the baale on the stumps oh I think on the [Music] St mind J that’s such a tough call it’s the goad run and no run there so three balls Remain the ACT will have to score one more [Applause] time what what count as the bow dislodge both like any part still on the stumps I actually I I even know three to come it’s through for a run and finds the net two to Tyler hay 77 on the board Luke Ryan will have the opportunity now to block out the last two balls of the [Applause] game and that’s the decision they’re not going to run two balls remain in the final Queensland will need to take a wicket [Applause] one ball remains oh I think L did L think that was the last he might have he might have he’s going to have to reset himself here one to [Applause] come the final ball it all comes down to this what an amazing game here it is re denus to luk Ryan there it is the Australian Capital territory have defended their title what an amazing game of Indoor Cricket we have just seen it is half break for Queensland some controversy in the last over with that run out call that will be analyzed at infinitum no doubt but the act under pressure against the resurgent Queensland have defended their title I cannot believe what a game it is Mark Harvey your final thoughts oh look certainly wasn’t the result I was predicting but you know full credit’s going to go to Queensland they they battled through that and and as I said they did it in section so you know after the first four overs that could have been a 28 or a 29 they lost a wicket in that last over the second pair they really
