I posted it in a few spots but in the past four years 96 players have filed for arbitration and only five of them have actually gone to arbitration. As JD said, deadlines help things happen. If arbitration actually does happen it can lead to bad blood, but especially in this scenario where the gap can't be more than a few hundred thousand and maybe a year or two I can't see arbitration actually happening.
