NHL Rumours and News: Kraken make splash, Oilers improve, VGK and Anaheim moves coming.

hello everyone welcome back in today’s video we’re going to do a quick recap here of the Pacific Division we’re going to look at what the Pacific Division has done over the first 3 days of her agency and which teams have improved or got worse over the first few days of free agency for those few teams we all that coming up right [Music] now hello everyone welcome back to another video here at in down below know leave a comment down in the comment section below today’s video now sorry for the delay of videos I took a day off yesterday just to sort of rest and recuperate because after having the draft and fre agency so close together it was just extremely hard this year especially with how late the Stanley Cup Final went so I’m hopefully going to get back into the Ry of things over the next little while so we’re going to start today off by looking at what happened for each team over the first 3 days of free agency at least at this point in time as the recording his videos and see which teams have improved or have gotten worse or over the first few days of free agency so we’re going to look at just the Pacific Division here today I’m going to have future videos talking about the central the metro and the Atlantic as well but today and in this video I’m just going to look at the Pacific so we’ll start with the Anaheim Ducks uh they’ve made a couple of interesting moves over the first day of free agency so uh June 30th also includes some of the signs from June 30th as well so uh June 30th they extended RFA forward ISAC lrom on a one-year deal with AV of5 million pretty good Mill 6 forward so it’s a solid signing there for the Ducks then July 1st they made two signings extending Brett leas and ero ven who he didn’t extend qualifying offers to Leon one year at 1.05 million uh vanan one year at 1.1 million so that’s pretty good deals there both are really good players Le a good bomb six forward vanan a good third pair defenseman then they signed yesterday yanson hkin two-year extension with a of $788,000 hkin can be a solid 13th 14th four for a team especially on the duck team so that’s a pretty good pickup there and then the Ducks also signed former jacket Carson Mayer Mayer who’s the guts a one-year league minimum deal is a guy who can definitely be called upon if need be so that’s a pretty good pick up there for the Ducks and they also made one small trade acquiring Brian dlan from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for 2026 fourth round pick so for ducks I’m not overly in love with what they did this off season sure they add some more depth they got some guys back who were on expiring deals with guys like L van lenstrom they add some more depth in the four group with guys like mayor I Harkins they all third defenseman and Duman so I don’t think they’ve had an atrocious offseason but given the fact that the Ducks came into this offseason and a lot of emphasis was put on them adding a top six forward adding a top four fense at least the fact that they haven’t done it yet uh really is worrisome to me so I don’t think they’ve had the greatest of off Seasons but I don’t think they’ve had the worst of them either so interesting stuff there for Anaheim for Calgary they’ve made a couple of signings July 1st they wound up signing six players first they sign Anthony Ana one-year deal $35 million Sol Mill six forward power type forward and a bigger role with Calgary I think you could do really well uh they signed Devon 2-year deal league minimum to be a third Stringer now with Mark sh G with sounds like vdar uh being injured to start the season they needed a backup goenda showed last year in SS that he can do that as service role for a little bit of time so they get the flam also get Jake be know their defense is not what once was so he gets a two-year deal with a of 1.75 million should be a solid second third pair defenseman there they get Martin furk gets a onee league manown deal solid depth forward could be a call up option they get Ryan lomberg two-year deal $2 million aav that’s a pretty good deal in my opinion for the Flames lomberg show he can be really good bomb SE forward so that could be a really good addition and then they also extended Year Sharon Govich he was entering final year his deal gets a 5year extension with sa 5.75 million coming off a C season I think that could be a really good pick up there for the Flames then yesterday we saw the Flames signed Jonathan ESP spot one year league minimum deal depth defenseman could be a call up option and then today we saw them sign Justin Kirkland he’s a Winger once again one year deal league minimum solid call up option so some interesting stuff there for the Flames they may know trades over that time frame so some interesting stuff there I mean the Sharon G extension is fantastic for them they do had some decent pieces like Bean could be easily a solid third pair if not second pair defenseman mantha could be a really good midle six forward lber just all bomb SE so they made some decent additions but given how much they subtracted over the past year with hannahan zadorov tanv uh lindol defley markam this year as well as M aani I think they’re definitely in a situation where they’re going to step back so I don’t think they had a bad free agency but I do think that this team’s going to take a step back this year they didn’t really replace all the stuff that they’ve lost so I think this team is going to take a step back next year but a decent free agency period the Emmon Oilers have made a plethora of signings they only signed players on July 1st but they made 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 signings on the July 1st so we’ll get to all those here uh so let’s start with some of the lower end guys they signed James Hamlin to a 2-year extension with a $125,000 uh he was an RFA they also signed RFA hoffenheimer to a one-year deal with a league minimum Noah Phil to one-year deal with the league minimum AV uh so those were some of the lower end signings they made that day uh those guys were all the guys who were in their organization already they wind up keeping they also get coland Delia who’s a decent third Stringer with Campbell now not in there they need a third Stringer he gets a one-year League minone deal should be pretty good there for them they also send Conor Carrick one- year league minimum not too bad there I think that could be a really good pickup there for the Oilers ster who they acquired a deadline s twoe deal with a of 88,000 should be a solid seventh defens for that team so that’s pretty good there they also signed some other players that they want up bring back Matas yamar threeyear deal $1.45 million they brought back Cory Perry one year $1.15 million uh some bonuses are in there too uh they brought back Conor Brown Oney year $1 million deal they brought back ad Henri two-year the $3 million a deal so they brought back most of their depth that they were able to have from last year they also signed Josh Brown who came over from Utah three-year deal $1 million AV just like St be a solid seventh defenseman so they add some pretty good pieces there they’re two big signings that weren’t just keeping players around or signing depth players where Vic arvitson Jeff Skinner arvitson gets a 2-year extension with a of $4 million Skinner gets a one-year deal with $3 million AE Skinner’s coming off a pretty decent season can put up 30 to 40 points arson is coming off for injury ra season but can still put up around 20 to 30 goals so this is a pretty good pickup there for the Oilers I mean they add some more depths to four group with guys like Skinner and arvidson they keep Perry Yan Mark Brown Henrik around so that’s pretty good moves there for the Oilers they also wind up adding guys like Josh Brown and Troy stri add some depth on the defensive ends so all in all not bad offseason for the Oilers I think they definitely got a little bit better than even last year now the four group looks a little bit better the defense still is a little bit of a question mark but still I think that for group looks a little better I would be surprised if we saw the Oilers start off a lot better this year so I think the Oilers had a pretty good uh free agency period Del Kings also made only signings on July 1st signing 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 nine players most of them were depth players we’ll get to all those here they sign Jeff mot two-year deal league minimum depth player could be a call up option they resign Tyler Madden after not qualifying him one-year league minimum deal uh they signed Jack s nka who wasn’t qualified by San Jose oneyear league minimum deal they signed Riley Walsh who wasn’t qualified by Boston who was a defenseman one-year league minimum deal and they s Glen Goden who uh was a UFA from Anaheim two-year deal league minimum so some interesting stuff there but mot Len stanka Madden are all going to be AHL players who are going to be call up options uh Walsh is decent player who could I think be a solid 67th defenseman but still most likely going to play in the AHL they brought back Trevor Lewis on one year Angel th000 deal he should be a Sol bomb sex forward they brought back Fenix Copley onee Angel $25,000 he should fight with David rck in training camp for the backup roll so that’s a pretty good move there for the Kings and the two big signings were yell Evanson and waren Fogle after losing arson needed someone to replac so they sent Fogle to a three-year deal with sa of $35 million pretty good Fogle had a really good playoff so I could see that be a really good pick up there for the Kings and they also add Evanson after losing that royan for agency sent to a four-year deal F of $3.85 million that’s a PR a pick up there for the to sign y Emon so pretty good pickups there for the Kings like I said not overly great and not sure if they’ve really improved much F Emon better than Roy and arvidson I’m not exactly sure but they do have a better goal tending uh duel now with keer and whoever they have as r or cool play as their backup their defense looks pretty good and they still have a lot of really good young Talent they could add to the for group to sort of fill holes so all in all I think the Kings had a decent off season and definitely not going to say they were some of the winners of this off season uh but I do think they definitely had a decent off season adding some of these players that they did so some pretty good signings there for the Kings on for agency day next going over to the sounds sharks they made a couple of signings on June 30th we talked about this in one of our previous videos sign Justin Bailey one year league minimum Sol bomb six forward could be solid 13th 14th forward Luke cunon 1 year 2.75 million is going to be Ufa the end of the year could be sld M 64 for the time being and then should be a trade ship but then we also saw him sign four players on July 1st uh it’s two lower end players were a couple of depth defenseman they signed Lucas Carlson to a 2-year deal with a of Andrew $3,000 uh could be a solid s defens called upon you also have Jimmy sheld who gets a onee Le deal AHL player could be a call up option so interesting set they for sharks but they also made two big splashes they got Alex wenberg on a 2-year deal with a of $5 million and they got Tyler tro on a four-year deal with AV of $6 million so interesting stuff there for the Sharks I mean they have to overpay to get these guys but wber and too I think could be really good additions wber should be a solid second third line Center for that team uh T should be a solid top SE Winger so they definitely had some more offense by adding weberg into fley but once again this team’s still not going to be overly great so I don’t think they’ve improved an awful lot but they definitely did improve a little bit by adding wber to Foley uh going over to the Seattle Kraken they made a couple of moves like we talked about in one of our previous videos signed four death players on June 30th McCormick 2-year deal with a75 and then they also signed stesa Henman and Hayden also onee deals with a of 775 so interesting stuff there uh they made 1 2 3 4 5 6 seven signings on free agency date uh they sign Mitchell Stevens who was a depth player playing in Montreal this past year to a 2-year deal C $5,000 should be a saw bomb six forward maybe a call up option they also sign uh Brandon buau to a one-year league minimum deal should be a call up option L one-year deal league minimum should be a call up option then mayor who can actually be a s bomb 64 to one-year league minimum deal and they also sign Nicholas brard to a onee league minimum deal so they add some depth by getting guys like br lard on the defensive end and leis and they also get Meyers bro and Stevens in the four group so they had some more depth pieces but they made two significant signings bringing Brandon Montour who was one of the top defensive players to a 7-year deal with a of $ 7.14 million should be a solid top pair of defenseman potentially even with the god like Vince Dunn so that’s a pretty good pick up there for the Kraken and they also signed Chandler Stevenson who’s a center left Winger seven-year Deal $6.25 million a he looks pretty good I think eventually Stevenson should be a solid like middle Winger there maybe even top six Winger for the Kraken especially pay paid that money so interesting stuff there the Kraken definitely made some more improvements I think they got themselves a little bit better than last year I go over to the Vancouver Canucks they didn’t make an over Buton of moves over the past little while but they definitely did make some moves the Canucks like we said on the 30th find jet wo Oney year league minimum deal not too surprised there and then on top of that the knucks have signed a handful of players on July 1st they sign E Smith a oneye league minimum deal not too surprised there uh sold Edition they signed yri Patera two-year deal league minimum should be their new third Stringer they signed kefir sheerwood who was in Nashville on a 2-year deal with a of $1.5 million s bomb 64 could see him play on the fourth line they sign Vinnie dear who left Emon two your deal with a of $2 million third pair right shot defenseman should be a really good piece there to sort of help replace the loss of a guy like Nikita todorov also sign der forward who’s a left side defenseman also can play on the third pair one year $15 million deal should be a decent addition there for the knucks uh they also signed D hin in twoyear deal with a of $2.25 million should be a very versatile third maybe second line Winger should be a guy who can really fill in some holes that’s a pretty good pick up there for the conu and they also signed their big addition which is Jake the BRK a 7-year deal with a of $5.5 million that’s a pretty good pick up there for the knucks the brus coming off a pretty good season with Boston I think could really work out well as like a solid top six Winger there for Patterson so that’s a pretty good pick up there for the knucks definitely had a decent offseason not a great one with guys like Lind Holm and zadorov leaving but a decent one nonetheless and then we saw the golden knights make some mov very depth additions there they brought back K corac and pav de Oria for Ras corza gets a two-year deal with a of Angel $25,000 nor have also gets a two-year deal with a of .835 million so interesting stuff there they sign linski and Aston ree who are depth forwards linski two years league minimum Aston ree one- year league minimum so some interesting moves there for the gold Knights they brought in a backup for Aiden Hill and Elia samsonov signs into a one-year deal with a of 1.8 Mill hopefully in the backup role should be a little bit better there for in Vegas and then yesterday they also signed Victor olon a one-year deal with the AV of 1.75 million so not overly expensive and olon in a third pair rooll could easily put up like 20 goals in Vegas so in my opinion not bad off season from Vegas but definitely did not go after any of the big pieces and also just uh forgot to remember but on Seattle’s thing they also moved Brian dland to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a 2026 fourth round pick with the addition to Montour had too many blue liners so he moved dland to Anaheim so all in all I think these seems have some pretty good re agencies uh so just to recap I think the sharks are a little bit better by adding wenberg and to fley even though I think there’s still going to be a bond D miss the playoffs I do think they had some pretty good moves there and for agency uh for the Ducks I’m quite surprised they haven’t had a top 64 or top 4D yet they still have a plethora of caps space to work with so I do wonder if we still see a move from them but I’ve been a little bit disappointed with the duck so far uh if you look at the Flames I think they did what they could add some more players to sort of help round out that roster guys like mantha Bean lomberg to sort of help around the roster but with all the subtractions they made over the past year I do think they’ll probably be a team who winds up missing the Playoffs the Kraken I like what they’ve done this off season adding Montour adding a guy like Stevenson I know Stevenson’s a little bit too high on this a but still I like those two additions Stevens is going to produce some offense on that four group Montour is going to be a really good offensive defenseman in the top four so I really do like what Seattle’s done I think they could have even C pulled themselves back into a playoff spot out the Kings I’m not going to say all really like what they did they let Matt Roy go they let Vic arson go those were two solid players a top six for and top four the defenseman replace them with Emon who’s more of a third pair defenseman and Fogle who’s more of a top nine forward so I do think they got a little bit worse this off season but those things but I do think with the addition of keer and with the other things they could easily still remain in a playoff spot next year I do like what the connuck did like I said losing lol Los into Zadora off they’re not going to be as good as they were last year but I do think with the additions of a guy like Jake the BR and some defensive help with guys like de Hern and forbert I think that could be a really good pick up there for the conu so I do think they got a little bit worse but I’m not sure if they’ll fall out of the playoffs I do think the Oilers got a ton better uh getting Skinner getting arvidson getting some defense helping guys like brown and steter I do think that the Oilers some really good things this off season so far and do like what they’ve done meanwhile for the Vegas gold ns are a little bit confusing they usually make big splashes so the fact that we haven’t seen a big splash of that does make me wonder if we do see maybe some more movement there from Vegas in not in future but adding olon is going to be a good third line Winger adding a guy like Sams should be a really good backup but given the fact they lost guys like marshel and Stevenson I do think that the knights did decrease a little bit and I wouldn’t be overly surprised if they were a wild card team this year uh but still I I do think they might the playoffs but I’m not sure exactly how good they’ll do this year if they don’t make any more moves so Hello everyone and welcome back to another End to End Hockey video, in this video we have another News and Rumour video as we look at the first few days of free agency for the Pacific division, as we look at each team and what they have done and could still do as we look at Anaheim signing depth players, their own guys and trading for Dumoulin, we saw Calgary get some pieces including Lomberg, Mantha and Bean, we saw Edmonton keep a lot of their players and bring in Skinner and Arvidsson, we saw LA replace Arvidsson and Roy with Foegele and Edmundson, we saw San Jose overpay to get Wennberg and Toffoli, Seattle was able to nab Stephenson and Montour, Vancouver lost 2 players but signed DeBrusk and Vegas couldn’t keep two key forwards but added Olofsson and Samsonov, and could we still see Vegas, Anaheim and Calgary make a deal, and I would love to hear your thoughts on all that was discussed in today’s video down in the comments section below.
