  1. People do this EVERY YEAR. They act like Crosby's late-career Ray Bourque, searching for that elusive Cup. I'd be absolutely shocked if he doesn't finish out his career playing only for Pittsburgh. He's already won everything there is to win.

And bringing up Dubas trading away Reilly Smith, as if that signifies anything, is weird. Did you see Reilly Smith for the Penguins? He sucked. He started great, then was invisible for like nine tenths of the season. Getting Smith out was addition by subtraction. There were a lot of rumblings around Pittsburgh that Smith didn't even want to be there, and was sulking all year about getting dumped by Vegas.

  2. If sid decided to be traded it would no doubt be the best decision for the team. Imagaine the absolute haul you could get for Crosby?

  3. I don't think he will go anywhere, but If the Penguins are serious about a rebuild you shed what you can while they still have value. If you wait you could get nothing or much less. Fans gotta remember it's also a business and part of that is restocking the team with talent for the future. Look at the Golden State Warriors, Klay walks for nothing, they overpaid Draymond Green, they held on to long to the championship roster until the talent outside of Curry withered into worthlessness now the Warriors will just fade to nothing.

  4. I don't see Lemieux allowing Dubas to mess things up with Sid. If just one owner in this league knows what a true franchise player all the way to the end means to an organisation, its fanbase and the overall culture of a team, it's him.
Plus Sid only earns 8.7M$ while still being one of the best players in the league. That's completely fathomable for an NHL GM, what Treliving has to deal with in Toronto with those insane amounts on just 4 guys not one of 'em being a superstar D is much more problematic. Back to Pittsburgh the Karlsson contract will also become more of a problem much sooner than extending Crosby for a few years at the same salary would be.

  5. 8.7mil. He might not go for 10 mil club after this season. And if he won't he will be Penguin.
I mean that is not even stupid from Pens.
Compare to Ovi. Man is complete deadweight to his team and expensive one.

  6. He's a creature of habit and likes to have a routine. Changing teams would definitely throw him off. I pray he stays with Pittsburgh

  7. I'm not sure the Penz make the playoffs anytime soon, & even if they make it somehow, I don't see them getting past the first round. It sucks as a fan, but this team looked slow & anemic, with a horrible power play. Sid doesn't deserve better, he earned better.

  8. I hope Sid leaves…hard for me to say that because I rather he doesn't. But I don't have faith in dubas' ability to build a winner, and do it well and quick. I would hate the last few years of his career he sits on the sidelines during the playoffs….the playoffs seem meant for him…or you can say the other way around, he's meant for the playoffs

  9. Heā€™s just seems like a legacy guy to me I think he retires from Pgh and they are a cap ceiling team.

  10. Their only chance of competing during the remainder of Crosbys career is doing exactly what theyā€™re doing. Trying to surround them with good, key word good, young talent. Had they been smart enough to do this 3 years ago, theyā€™d be in a great spot atm with a good mix. It might be a little too late, but itā€™s the only shot either way. They have some real bright young players who may be inside 2 years or less and making an impact. If you think they should continue to mortgage that and acquire more aging and expensive talent, youā€™re either Ron Hextall or thank god youā€™re nowhere near management of this team.

  11. I believe he will stay with the pens. He is to good, but also to old and expensive to leave. If any tea, were to pikc crosby it would either be a team competing for 1st pick and have lots of cap, or a team that crosby wants to go to enough to win a cup. I want him to go to edmonton or chicago IF he leaves.

Chicago would be nice because bedsy absolutely loved crosby growing up and it would just be cool to see the boys together.

Edmonton, because for 1, it is my team, and 2, 4 words. They. Want. To. Win.
With mcleod gone too, we would have another center to use. It would be unlikely crosby would have fo play the penguins in a serious game such as the playoffs. But even if it was a serious game near the end of the season. It wouldnt feel as serious.

  12. nobody thinks he might retire?? (i think hes way to good but like whats left to prove?) maybe a 4 nations title win an pit in the playoffs?

  13. Basically, Sidney Crosby is going to retire as a Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are in a legitimate rebuild. Malkin and Letang signed as Penguin for life. Crosby is unbelievably loyal, and he'll retire as a Pittsburgh Penguins. I think the fact that the other two guys are still there, and he's probably going to set all the scoring records for the Penguins has to weigh in significantly here. That's my take on this subject. Thank you for reading.

  14. The core is fine. They need speed. Jake was a loss but Sid can always find his Robin. There was so many problems last year and is was transparent in late Jan early Feb. They can't be 30th in PP and be sloppy between the blue lines. I question Jarry as well.
    Whatever happens, Go Pens! šŸ§

  15. There is no telling what the stupid management will do! They have done some really weird things lately! I think getting rid of Sullivan and Dumbas would be a great start!

  16. I read rumours that he was considering heading to Canada, either Vancouver, Toronto, or Edmonton. I mean, if I were a legendary veteran, I'd wanna go back to my native country if possible, so I get it.

  17. his agent said something and iĀ“m going with this… means, iĀ“m a die hard pens fan but, he did it all 4 us and when the pens donĀ“t get a competitive team together, cause sid is still producing like hell… let him go elsewhere, gretzky did it, jagr did it and so on…. it would be fair…
