The Everett Channel had an opportunity this week to catch up with Everett Silvertips captain Ryan Murray, who re-joined the club on Wednesday. The 18-year-old defenseman was expected to start the season in the NHL after being selected second overall in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. With continuing labor uncertainty that could delay the start of the NHL season however, Murray has instead rejoined the Silvertips for until further notice. He has been named a team MVP and WHL Western Conference All-Star in each of the last two seasons and represented Canada in the 2012 World Junior Championships, IIHF World Championships and Canada-Russia Challenge in the last nine months alone.
