Bennett tripping on Bouchard – Tough Call Review

Sam Bennett was given a minor penalty for tripping on Evan Bouchard. Some are saying it could have been a knee. I think it’s possibly not even a penalty.

  1. Bennett is one dirty MO-FO. he has hurt at least one player on every team he has played in the playoffs, this isn't hockey it's being the ultimate thug.

  2. Like Trouba and Reaves, it seems that Bennett has a license to injure. This wasn't as bad as some of the other stuff he's pulled, but I wouldn't be surprised if he left his leg out for the contact here.

  3. Вот так ещё жестьче они теряются ищут помощи у судей, не все же неприкасаемые.

  4. "he doesn't change his path"…really? he absolutely changes his angle and puts his right leading leg out way in front of his other as Bouchard makes his way to the paint to try to avoid it…at 18 seconds you can even see his right leg raising up to hit Bouch (and then the left foot also comes off the ice for the contact)…and this was direct knee on knee contact unlike Foegele's later on…dangerous play. Do you remember the Kane slewfoot you did earlier on, I believe it was on Q. Hughes? To me this felt a bit similar like he was going to make contact no matter what (I know that was a slewfoot and this was knee on knee).

  5. Now I see why the panties are just a bunch of bitch's, all they do is cheap shots and play aggressively. Their main goal is to harm, so whoever is left standing will have to play the game, which is far a few… This is the NHL that has been promoted by the commish himself, a dirty game, not what it was originally. Its more UFC than hockey. I do understand its a physical game, but come on… what is this circus.

  6. I don't know what you're looking at. He clearly shifts his weight and drives his right knee into Bouchard. You can see he pushes off with the left leg before it comes up and drives his right leg under Bouchard.

  7. Completely disagree with your analysis.
First, Bennett's a head hunter so that has to be taken into consideration.
Second, he purposely takes a wide stance to be able to position himself for just such a hit.
Third, he CLEARLY shifts his weight to his right to make the contact, KNOWING he won't hit the body.
Fourth, every series Bennett seems to be involved cheap shotting a player on the other team. He gets away with a lot. At another point in this game he takes a shot at someone's head at the blue line and just missed.

  8. This has to be the worst analysis I've seen from Tough Call. But this is just one video, I think most of your content is really good.

  9. bennet is good at playing dirty .thats why you think he didnt do anything wrong but he cleary goe sfor a knee on knee.

  10. Watch the difference in distance between each of their feet. Oiler player stance is wide even tho the weight is on foot away from Panther player. Could have avoided collision. Bennett actually narrows his stance by pulling leg on contact side in as he throws this shoulder into the hit. Completely different hits.

  11. his leg is underneath him AND he brings his leg INWARD. Oilers have been trying to avoid the physical contact constantly the whole series, including trying to jump over florida panthers and the refs have been bailing them out with tripping calls.

  12. For such a talented team the panthers philosophy is chippy play. In this one I see intent to injure. Your analysis is lifeless.

  13. Blatant knee on knee. Im a vegas fan. Have no reason to defend the oilers or side with the oilers. This is knee on knee. He takes a wide stance for no reason other than to guarantee the contact, he leans his weight onto his right knee just before contact. It would be one thing if this was a player that isnt known for this. But this is sam bennett. Hes matt cooke 2.0.

  14. Lol your analysis is deeply flawed. Bennett, while a good player, is deliberately trying to tack out Bouchard. Its obvious.
