Good, finally. Just accept it. The choice isn't up to us or the Leafs management, the choice is Mariner's alone whether he can even be moved, waived or anything, so unless you wanna get rid of Matthews or Nylander instead of running it back for one season, there's no other option.
Not a Leafs fan but I think Berube could make a ton of difference. Not to mention Tanev and Stolarz being excellent additions. I know it's hard to believe because, y'know, it's the Leafs, but I genuinely think they make noise this year.
I mean Mitch is a fantastic player. If you don’t think that you are stupid. His problem is that he can’t close. The teams problem is they now have 4 guys taking up 61% of the available cap space. I am astonished they didn’t move him and John but we just have to make the most of it. Hopefully we can make another step forward this year.
The trade I liked in my head (until the Capitals took on PLD) was Mitch Marner to the Capitals for Dylan Strome (half the price) and a first round pick. (:

I think people are starting to realize Marner holds literally all the power in this and that he fully intends to dog walk the Leafs to free agency.

new coach, new philosophy. if it works trade him in deadline. if it doesnt, cut you loses and trade him at the deadline for a bunch of first rounders.
