  1. Not sure if you missed it, but the Canes signed Jaccob Slavin's brother (Josiah Slavin) this morning.

  2. I originally heard that CapFriendly when bought by the Washington Capitals was going to stay open till July10th. So, yeah it hasn't gone dark yet, it's not the 10th.

  3. Briere was asked why they weren't more active in free agency. Because they were left with no money. They're paying Kevin Hayes to play in Pittsburgh, Atkinson in Tampa Bay, and Bryzgalov to raid the buffet. Next year is bad too, but after that, they might be able to do fun things.

  4. So Im not sure what the CAPS are going to do, or why they were focused on CAPFriendly, but they are $14million over the CAP.
    Way worse than anyone else.
    (Vegas is $3m over)
Besides Ovie, and maybe Wilson, who in the hell are they paying?!

  5. Swayman deserves 7.5 – 8.5 mil, but hopefully he gives the usual Boston discount and number is about 6.5 mil.

  6. Forecasted highs of 90-94 F (32.2-34.4 C) in Abbotsford the next 3 days. Ughh. At least the humidity seems to be moderate. I hope you have bedroom AC units.

  7. Didn't Joe Delano with the wings ask to go to arbitration? Or did I miss something?
And yes I know I am missing a lot, but that is outside of hockey and not applicable here. ;-D

  8. we don't see Offer Sheet much but i'd like to see if one team would offer sheet swayman at 10-12Millions. Since most teams are stuck with cap issues i don't think it could happend but he could be worth that much.

  9. Not one of the video topics but I just have to say this Leon is not going anywhere. My god this all I see all over the internet right now. You do know he still has a year left on that deal he can take the summer to decide he dosnt have to sign right now. Ugh I’m hearing the stupidest things trade Leon to Detroit trade him to Calgary he dosnt want to stay he hates being under McDavids shadow. Just stupid crap god.

  10. Doubt Canes can afford to resign Necas & Jarvis. Imegine it would cost them at least 14m to sign both and another $1.40-$2m for Drury. If Canes want to resign Necas, they should buyout KK (unless they can trade Roslovic and Fast). He's under 26 so the buyout cap-hit, while long, would only be 835k (or 455k for 3 years out of 12). Ideally, the Canes would wait 2 more years (buyout only needs to be before July 6th, 2026) which reduce the dead cap hit to 8-years (and 3yrs of 455k + 5yrs of 850k). Buffalo is willing to deal for bigger forwards, so Canes should see if they could get Benson or JJ Peterka (Benson has 3years left on ELC and JJ has one-more year. Seems like they could get Benson based on what little return that received for Savoie from the Oil.

  11. I would consider signing all RFAs to Bridge deals to see if they can match or outperform their best, and if they do very well, I would give them long term contracts

  12. UPL is a tricky one because he only just found his groove in the second half of last season. In 2022/23, I had more confidence in Anderson than UPL. To me, he still needs to show that the dominant goalie we saw last season is here to stay. It’s hard to sign him for much more than 4-5m in my opinion because I’m not fully convinced he won’t regress. Even last year he let in an absurd amount of goals on the first shot of the game. I don’t like that. It’s a tough call, I don’t want to be like the Sens with Korpisalo.

  13. I might be the only one feeling this way, however, I don't feel beniers deserves a big payday…. He had a down year and one of the main reasons Seattle did not make the playoffs. Make him earn it.

  14. I thought Carolina wanted to move Necas so that they could spend the majority of their remaining cap on Jarvis.
Necas had peak value after the IIHF Worlds, so their trade ask must've been outrageous if they couldn't move him. Puzzling

  15. I emailed the Capitals organization from their NHL website and told them how disgusted I was that they have anything to do with the purchase CapFriendly. Everyone who loves hockey should do the same.

  16. If the Bruins sign Swayman for only $5 million, that would be a steal! I'm seeing at least $6.5 – $8 million for him. I guess we will see.
