In Punch’s day most people didn’t have sex on a reliable and consistent basis until they got married. So he was just making a wry comment about how young players suddenly having sex all the time might not be as focused on their game. It was folklore that sex weakens a player’s performance.

I also feel you should acknowledge that Toronto does shove their teams down the throats of every Canadian and if the role was reversed there is no way they would cheer for a Vancouver team.
