BEST OF THE BEST GRASSTRACK RACES 1991-1994

Let’s take you right back to the 1990’s for the very best races from each meeting filmed. We start with the 1991 Battle of Hastings with stars such as Joe Screen, Martin Hagon, Steve Schofield, Trevor Banks, and Will James for a terrific 500cc Final. That’s followed by the first race from the “Action Track” at Collier Street, and it’s Clayton Williams trying to hold off the flying Mark Loram. Australian Sidecar champions Gary Moon/Steve Robbins turn on the style against the top British crews, and here he has the very best crew to beat in Roger Measor/Steve Bailey, absolutely terrific Sidecar action.
The Jim Coles Solo final is just unbelievable, with Jeremy Doncaster, Clayton Williams, and Andy Smith. You really won’t see better racing anywhere, from all the top Solo’s and top Sidecar crews from this era. A brilliant 1991 British Masters with Loram, Schofield, Cox, Dewison/Wall, Alan & John Blewitt, Lane/Edwards, Baker/Martin. We have fantastic LH Sidecar from the 1991 Sussex Super, with Terry & Luke Pachol closing down on Dave Penfold/Steve Palmer in a race that ends with real drama.
Back at Staple Cross again for a scintillating 250cc Solo race, with the legend of Mark Wadsworth having a super race against local favourite John Dormer. 1991 finishes with the Ace of Aces Solo Final, and who can ever forget the tremendous battle between Marcel Gerhard, Steve Schofield, and Mark Loarm. Possibly the most exciting race from all the years of the International Ace of Aces. The likes of which we will never see again.
1992 starts with the Sidecar Spectacular from Uddens, and Ivor Matthews/Mike Dowse doing battle with Russell Ing/Paul Urycz in nail biting action. Back at the same venue for the 1st Round of the British Masters, and it’s 2 of the greatest Solo riders to ever come for the UK, Mark Loram has a terrific race with Joe Screen, which ends in a superb finish. Gary Moon is back at Collier Street, and although Moon/Robbins unusually make the start, it’s the old master Roger Measor who slips up the inside, but Dave “Ben” Heath on his speedway outfit was having a tremendous day, but which crew would take the win? The Wimborne Whoppa always saw some fantastic racing, and with Simon Wigg, leading Joe Screen, you just knew Screeny would battle right until the chequered flag. 1992 ends with Ivor Matthews dicing with Gary Moon and after a superb 4 laps, the race ends in dramatic fashion. The 6 lap Solo Final was simply sensational, with Marcel Gehard trying to fight off the peoples champion, Steve Schofield.
1993 includes some superb action from the Battle of Hastings at Staple Cross, the Berks Bonanza, some great racing from the LH Sidecars from Stelling Minnis, with John Fish/Gary Moore, Luke Pachol/Julian Browning, Tommy Penfold/Kevin Bovis, and Bill Penfold/Nigel Shaw. The 1993 British Masters Qualifier saw a sensational Semi-Final in the RH Sidecars featuring John Hiscock/Dave French, Pete Dyer/Tony Bemister, John Halsey, Dave Steer/Andy Orchard, Terry Phillips/Chris Spiers, Richard Thomas/John Richards. A tremendous British Masters from Collier Street, and we see Steve Smith/Keith Wall and Roger Measor/Steve Bailey having a great battle, and we also see Ken Lane/Mark Edwards having tyre problems in a very dramatic race. A 6 lap Solo Final in which Trevor Banks tries to hold off the hard charging Mark Loram.
The action continues to come very fast as we work our way through some absolutely sensational races including more action from the Ace of Aces, and the Bonfire Burn-up. A video that once you start watching, you will find it hard to stop.
