Slafxpectations..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the season of Juraj Slafkovsky in Montreal… The Habs first overall pick from 2022 not only exceeded my expectations.. But he cemented himself on the top line alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. I’ve heard people say in the past that he didn’t deserve it, he didn’t earn it etc etc. But I disagree.. Lets take a look at Slafkovsky’s 2023-2024 season.

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. May I just say that Slaf was drafted first overall against all odds? He was even booed? I for one was ecstatic!!! Where is Shayne Wright now? Everyone agrees: Slaf isn't a generational talent. But he's an elite player. And a Hab for the next 8 years!!! GO HABS GO!!

  2. Ok, from now on his evergrowing collection of highlights are to be called Slafploitation Movies.

  3. Even if he maintains the same scoring rate he did after Jan 1, he will have more points.

Oct to Dec he scored 13pts in 36 games, 0.361ppg. Jan 1 on he scored 37pts in 46 games, 0.804ppg.

If he just stays at that 0.804ppg for an entire 82 games, it gives him 65.93ppg, round it up to 66pts. And that is assuming he stays at status quo and doesn't get better. So 60-70 pts to me is a given provided everyone stays healthy.

Question is….will Slaf be the first Hab to hit 80pts since Kovalev in '08. First Hab to hit 90pts since Turgeon and Damphosse in '96, first Hab to hit 100pts since Naslund in '86?

  4. Me and my buddies are being even more ambitious. 70 points I think is doable. An entire 82 games playing Suzuki and Caufield? I can see it. 60 is almost a guarantee

  5. Legend has it that it was Saint Nicholas Zuski himself who requested Marty to put Slaf on his line so that he can help him develop.

  6. Loved this Vid bud, still cant believe Slafs progression last year, never seen anything like it, keep up the good work

  7. honestly, if I’ll be good with Slaf if he keep averaging around 50pts/season and over 150hits/season

for some, 50 pts isn’t much, but for a player who is effective on both side of the ice and lays the body this often, 50 pts is worth 100pts

  8. All else being equal 60-70 is well within reach. Over a point a game for Suzy and close to that for our little bundle of joy. Anderson is an inch away from being tossed under the bus. Dach and Newhook could match Slaf if they're healthy and not on a line with Josh.

  9. Not to take away from Slaf but I think people discount the Suzuki factor. Look at Caufield with and without Nick. Dach excitement didn’t get real until he was on the wing with Suzuki. Remember RPH was the second coming while he was on Nick’s line then not even a guarantee to be a NHLer off of it and Slaf talks were to go down to Laval until Nick asked to put him on his line.

I think Suzuki is just so easy to be slept on.

  10. 30 goals minimum. Top line. No injuries. Lotsa hits. Maybe he can beat the tar outta Matthews. Anything less and we trade him to Turdville Ohio.

  11. if he stay on the 1st line (and i cant see the reason why not) for the whole season, i expect 70 points.

  12. You always take the words right out of mouth HJ. Mental telepathy?
I sincerely hope DACH and NEWHOOK have good HEALTHY seasons. As for the top line, I don't want any unrealistic expectations put on them. They're still VERY young. Sure they're getting paid the big money, but that's the game. You gotta lock up your talent for the long run. Keep them in a position of success and hope they pick up where they left off and have an even better season.
I've NEVER been so invested in MTL as I am right now. It's the most exciting time to be a HABS fan in a LONG ASS TIME!
Not saying the ultimate prize is on the doorstep. Just that it looks like MTL is turning into a team that is gonna keep fans on the edge of their seats.
And like the last video about that little clown from Winnipeg who doesn't want to play anything but top 6, and the PLD, LAINE, and Mishkov, Shane Wright, and even Zegras..etc DRAMA, I hope KH continues to keep the locker room EGO free!

  13. Wasn’t it actually Nick last year that basically went to MSL and said “put Slaf on my line” and then he did

  14. Any 50 point player is worth my time. A 50 point 19 year old however is insane. The fact that the “bust” allegations haven’t really stopped is wild. I can see Slafkovsky being that 110 point player 50 goals once in his career, sounds ridiculous to say but I’d say that’s his upside. Remember jack Hughes?

  15. CAN you make a vidéo, explaining how many games we lost by 1 goal, how many games we went in over Time, how many injuries we had, how many Times Anderson hit the posts… etc… all together ? Its stupidly ridiculisa offset and I dont think we will have a rank 5th pick next year, I believe we wil havé à top 15th (after éliminâtes Toronto fiesta round)

  16. Big boys take a few years to hit their strides. Like Guy Boucher said: When you’ve always been the biggest, strongest player on the ice, its a big adjustment when everyone else is the bigger stronger of their own leagues.

Im sure he’ll have a fantastic career for us.

  17. If slaf is who we hope and he continues his stellar play, then around 70pts should be a good baseline for him. 25g and 40+ assists.
