This was indeed the into to the 1989 Season on SportsChannel which I believe lasted onto 1991 in which they kept the same graphics but changed the highlighted Islanders players used for them. The Devils, The Mets and the Nets also had similar intros until they changed the format for all the teams starting in 1991. I remembered that it opened this way starting in the fall of 1988 after the Mets season was over. They even changed the music from earlier in 1988, which was still awesome. SportsChannel was the bomb. I loved watching games for all these teams on it along with SportsChannel America's NHL coverage which was great and simple unlike NBC now.
