so Jake the Brusque is no longer a Boston Bruin this is uh he’s going to the Vancouver kanuck canu signed Jake de bruss to a seven-year deal wow uh absolutely incredible so contract carries through 2031 of an annual capit of $5.5 million you know de brosque he can be a player when he’s hitting on all cylinders is an extremely good Topline player and for de Brusque let’s kind of go through the statistics of his time here in Boston so last season 80 games played 19 goals 21 assists for 40 points a lot of Bruins did complain Bruins fans of sh complained about his offensive production and you know Jake de Brusque has shown flashes in the past of being a little bit more than what he’s giving you season prior 64 games played 27 goals 23 assists for 50 points early in that season before he got that injury last year he was on an absolute tear but when you look at De Brusque and you look for what he is mainly throughout his career he’s a pretty much a 40o guy he can give you 50 possibly 60 if he hits things right it is 5.5 million a bit Rich for a guy like de Brusque no I think with the cap going up and with his potential that’s kind of what you’re buying into you know you still feel like there’s a little bit more there for de Brusque I think for the Vancouver Canucks this is a smart intelligent signing you’re kind of bringing somebody in that you feel like can hit more can score more maybe with the right line combination maybe de bruss does become a consistent 30 goal guy uh there’s aspects of the brush game as a I’ll say this to canox fans that you’re going to like when he’s engaged when he’s skating he can be extremely dangerous he’s good defensively the problem that you’ll notice though sometimes the motor with debras is not always there but I’m wondering if a fresh start a new start elsewhere somewhere there it wasn’t drafted where a lot of people kind of complained about that draft class still to this day maybe Vancouver could be a nice destination for him and with how much talent they have up front I do think you could be seeing the best version of De Brusque um you know when he was here in Boston you play on the berson Marshon line years prior like he’s been surrounded by solid talent I don’t think 5.5 is crazy I thought that was pretty much what he would go for I’m a bit surprised the Bruins didn’t match that offer or maybe they did and he wanted to kind of move on uh this is a good little addition there for the cans and as for the Bruins now they have more question marks they’re going to have to make some additions here in free agency to improve their top six whether you hate them love them whatever with de Brusque is a Bruins fan uh this is a loss there’s not many internal solutions to replace his offensive production so they’re going to go out have to go out there and sign somebody to F you know fill his role but seven-year deal I’m happy for debrusk he gets long-term security because that was always a big thing with him in Boston and maybe kind of just being settled in in one place again maybe he will kind of play as the best version of himself but let me know your thoughts Down Below in the comment section what have you thought of this deal Bruins fans are you upset that de Brusque was not retained uh Vancouver Canuck fans are you excited about him being on your team let me know down Below in the comment section I’ll see you in the next one
