Regardless of his contributions, or lack there of, to the Blues, I hope he gets a handle on this before it destroys him.

  2. Man, you hate to see people struggle with substance abuse. My uncle committed suicide last year because his life fell apart from his drinking (almost killed someone driving drunk, 6 duis, lost his job couldn’t find a new one with no ride, lost his house then).

It’s a slippery slope, I hope Kappy can get the help he needs.

Hope he stays away from the player assistance program. Surround yourself with your support system and tackle it together.

I wasted 20+ years of my life drinking my problems away. I am 1 year sober and it’s great. Altho being in a drunken stupor can be fun it’s no way to live your life. Hope Kapanen can take care of himself and have a good life, and I wld love if that translated into a better year for him w the note. We are rooting for you Kap!

Posted this in r/hockey, but feels like it belongs here as well.

I was shocked (and if we’re being honest, disappointed) we re-signed him. But if doing so helps him beat this in any way, I’m glad he’s back and I’ll be rooting for him this season.
