What traditions do you have when you attend road games?

Every road game I have been to I have made sure to pick up at least one enamel pin for my board. Maybe when it's a little more full I'll make it hockey specific but we aren't there yet. I've thought about putting them on my kepi but 1. I like wave my kepi when we score 2. Other teams logos don't feel like they have a place on kepi.

I've seen some people make road trip jerseys; where they attach patches of the teams they have visited on their home teams jersey. I've thought of doing that too (but cleaning that seems like a chore). What other traditions do you guys have when you visit a new arena?

We’ve gone down the ice level during warm-ups and take photos of our teams. Once we get home, we look for open houses/meet-n-greets and try to get our photos signed and framed. I think it’s cool that we get our own photo signed AND it’s a memento from a trip. I had Cole Silinger sign a photo from the ‘23 trip to Vancouver and his handler was impressed that it wasn’t one of the team provided photos.

I eventually want to make my own road-trip jersey, but I’ll wait until we’ve visited a couple more teams. So far I’ve been to Detroit, Vancouver, Seattle and Phoenix.

I thought I was on r/hockey and was about to say OP hates Ohio and has completely surrounded the state with the pins they have collected haha

  3. My wife and I always grab a puck. If they have matchup pucks, we’ll get those since they’re dated — but we’ll always at least get a puck of the team we visited. Our goal is to get ’em all eventually!

  4. I’ve picked up a puck from every ECHL/AHL/NHL barn that I’ve visited.

Watching the Blue Jackets lose 🙁 I️ haven’t seen them win a game in person in like maybe six years?
