If you watched the post game of game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, you heard Wayne Gretzky say something to the effect of ” people say, we’ve got a great group, this is a great group” etc. As hard as it was for him to say, Paul Maurice said it best when he said “groups don’t win cups, teams win cups.” Without a team you’re not going to win a cup. You’ll just have a group.
