  1. Love this deal, 2 consecutive 40 point seasons for under a mil.

  2. CrayonOlympics

    Absolutely zero complaints here.

Adds significant depth scoring for near league minimum

  3. OldEastMocha

Simon and Theodore, sorry but, Allvin is no longer one of your chipmunks.

  4. ToeCheeseGrater

Sprong jersey in the mail 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🦁🦁🦁🦁

  5. Great value, low risk contract with high upside.

  6. LogTman135

Don’t love his defensive game but at that price it’s a fucking steal

  7. JTMilleriswortha1st

What a contract. 43 pts for less than a million is great. Easy to outplay that contract

  8. DishwasherFromSurrey

Babe wake up, new tocchet doghouse player just dropped

  9. -GregTheGreat-

Sadly this looks like curtains for Podkolzin then. He quite literally doesn’t have a spot in the lineup anymore. He was battling for the 12th forward spot before we signed Sprong, and we can’t waive him because he certainly will be claimed.

  10. accountnumber02

Wonder if he’ll be good with garland blueger in lower risk minutes. Don’t expect him to get a lot of trust under tocchet but more competition for roster spots is a great thing, especially for someone like podkolzin. If he can’t beat sprong for a spot under tocchet then he probably hasn’t earned a spot on the team

  11. Daniel Sprong the kind of guy who would be 3 on 1 with prime Gretzky and Lemieux, look them both off and snipe it.

  12. TurbanGhetto

Detroit signed him for 2 million last July 1st as a UFA…

…he had a good season and then we sign him for less than half of what he signed for just a year ago.

    Sweet deal!

22-23 goal scorer per 82 over the last 2-3 seasons

  13. BulwarkNuck

Explain it like I’m five why they’re paying 5.5M for Debrusk but only 975K for Sprong? Locker room cancer? Horrendous underlying stats? There’s got to be something more to this?

On paper, even as a 4th liner he could be scary. Imagine him and Hogs on the 4th line, like… that’s not even fair?

  14. HanSolo5643

2 straight seasons of 40 plus points and close to 20 goals for under a million dollars isn’t too bad at all.

  15. AverageMaleAged18-24

whoa weird, I was just looking at his stats last night. I’ve heard he conflicting reports that’s he’s good on the PK but also lazy on defense? I mean I guess both could be true.

  16. JohnnyJinglo

unreal signing. Im hoping this means we can move garland into the top 6 and run something like. Debrusk petey garland, hog miller boeser, joshua bleuger sprong, heinin suter podz.

  17. smallmonkejohndeere

Almost everyone: Allvin the forwards look pretty good, can we get a proper defenseman this summer?

Allvin: Nope, sorry you get offense-first former Pittsburgh winger. Them’s the brakes

I’m told this deal is good, I just thought that was funny.

Daniel tried to date my ex when they were younger and she was never into him because her brother played hockey with him growing up and she didn’t like the hockey guy type. Well she ended up breaking my heart that I’m still not over to this day so seeing this guy on the Canucks is gonna be rough lol.

  19. grahamlax

I wanted this guy all offseason, let’s go!!!

  20. nofakefans18

    Heinen Miller Boeser

    Debrusk Petey Hog

    Joshua Blueger Garland

    Sherwood Suter Sprong

    PDG Podkolzin

I guess you see if Sprong can fit into the team with his defensive issues but this makes Podkolzin‘s future more interesting:

    – He could either have a good camp and force Sprong or Sherwood out.

    – He could fail to progress again this putting him on waivers

    – Management could use him now as a trade chip to upgrade at wing or at RHD.

  21. Blenchers

For sure going to try him in the bumper on PP1 with his release

    Low risk experiment

  22. I thought he was good when he played with the Kraken. Hoping that a return to the Salish Sea will be good for his game.

  23. Safe_Dragonfly752

    Hoglander Pettersson DeBrusk

    Heinen Miller Boeser

    Joshua Suter Garland

    Sherwood Blueger Sprong

  24. jackfrench9

Why so cheap? Guy has been putting up points, no?

  25. ForceEconomy9988

Before everyone says this is a slam dunk, Sprong’s had bad concussion problems. Obviously wish him the best but something to know when evaluating his season. He is really talented though and can absolutely snipe

  26. captain-canucks

So many forwards now surely one of them is being shipped out for a top 4 d-man

  27. Does this mean we have to use our LTIR space on Poolman now?

  28. bonergarage123

His crazy shooting % will fit right in on our team. Lfg!!

  29. burtonboy1234

1 year, near league minimum, low risk = win

  30. ScarvesOnGiraffes

Good deal. I question where he fits in the lineup though and how he’ll do under Tocchet

  31. decentish36

So what kind of defenceman could we get for Podkolzin, Juulsen and our 2024 first round pick?

  32. If anyone cares to see a video I just watched talking about him here it is [The best offensive player you’ve never heard of](https://youtu.be/NHE0VW8kQqo?feature=shared)
Seems like we got a good 4th liner and PP2 player for cheap. Here’s to hoping the defensive coaches can fix him up
