  1. Our forward depth is pretty crazy now. Sprong, Pods, Sherwood, Di Giuseppe, Aman, Bains, Karlsson, Sasson not to mention Lekkerimaki on the come up too.

I think Pods will be traded for a D man this year if he doesn't break into the lineup with consistent minutes.

  2. Sprong had a game last year against Buffalo where he came back from being scratched for like the past 10 games. Had a total of 7 minutes time on ice and was still somehow a minus four. Have fun with this guy. Vancouver

  3. Nice depth pickup! The Canucks management is showing that just as they value high-IQ players, they are also making high-IQ decisions in making the team better for next season- based on the available salary cap. Well done!

  4. Good signing at that price. Especially if he scores 30 plus points on the 4th line. But can he be trusted enough to play in the playoffs?

  5. As wings fan….make sure ur core d pair is out with him. He does not know how to defend whatsoever. 1 way player only. But the dude can shoot that puck! Hard!

  6. As a Wings fan, we liked this guy. Quite obviously he has limitations. He needs to be heavily sheltered, mostly ozone draws, carefully matched up etc. But he possess a unique skill set. If he developed his play making, decision making, defensive game and his level of consistency in his effort level, he could be a top 6 option. He's still employed because he has an amazing shot and is a unique bottom 6 scoring option for a cheap price.

I hope the best for him. Especially because he willingly gave up #88 for Kaner last season the second he heard about Kane being signed.

  7. Sprong scores at the rate of a solid top 6 forward while playing in the bottom 6 at 7 to 10 minutes per game. He can be relied upon to score some sweet clutch goals when needed. Coaches don't like his play off the puck but fans will love him. Great signing. He is a sniper.

  8. Has a great wrist shot. Sprong is gonna pop some in playing with Petey and Debrusk! Not great defensively but hope he works on it!

  9. He's great offensively…… Defensively he's a complete liability…. He's honestly a really interesting player. Fascinating

  10. Too many teams and coaches are all about “two way” forwards. This guy can score at moments when you think there’s a least likely chance or momentum to score. I liked Sprong in the O-zone. Can we please let goal scorers just be that? Not sure why this guy makes $975k but Veleno makes 2.75 mil……wtf

  11. So the Pens who suck refuse to sign Sprong and f@#$%ng sign Bemstrom, Puljujarvi, Nieto and other bums to contracts. Here is a good video on Daniel Sprong: Why is one of the BEST players in the NHL a 4th liner by the channel Canuck Hockey. Nice signing.

  12. Ok when he came to Detroit I was excited. But he is totally one sided. Hes a liability anywhere besides the offensive end when he has the puck, when he feels like shooting.
