  1. You should actually do a breakdown on why this arena deal is the worst arena deal in the NHL for taxpayers.

  2. I suggest that everyone start calling Utah, the ‘Utah Things’. It’s what they deserve for ridiculously not having a team name by now.

  3. What… they aren't gonna make it look like a Pringles Chip or a Tampex Panty liner? Oh ya and don't forget the highest nose bleed seats that can't see the other end of the ice…

  4. According to Bret Hart, the Montreal Screwjob was the biggest thing to happen to the city of Calgary

  5. what a waste of tuning in. on and on complaining about speeches, have you ever seen one of these pressers? god damn dude, you've lost my view, brutal video

  6. Nope, wont be transformative.
Most people here hate the deal, only consolation is that Edmonton has to pay some of it.

  7. I was on vacation and in vegas and went to one of their playoff games and yeah its so much better than Saddledome, its definite really due for a change and modernized.
And you always hear about concert acts not liking the low roof so whatever.

  8. I think Calgary has been pretty aggressive about promoting tourism, so maybe talking about the native-themed architecture was part of that. They used to buy ad times and space with the Kings. A little weird seeing their ads inside Staples Center and on the broadcasts and the website, but that was when Sutter was coach. So I thought maybe that's why they thought they could make some hay in LA.

  9. Metro coaches vs any other division. Oh it's on. Torts, Evason, Roy, Lavy? As long as they feed Sullivan to Rod the Bod to keep him distracted, I think they can take the Atlantic down. The west? Bednar could put up a fight, but I think the rest would be creampuffs.

  10. Some of these teams did not need public money to build rinks. LA Kings built their own. The rink is being built for real rich men to house their team of real rich players. As a tax payer I have a problem with this. I enjoy hockey but something in me has changed. These guys play in a union. They look after each other and hand out contracts and sometimes these certain players do not deserve these contracts. Markstrom contract was terrible for his term and the full NMC. It was undeserved. M.A. Fleury should have been retired 5 years ago. He's absolutely useless in the playoffs but he keeps getting contracts from his friend Bill Guerin who is handing out millions of dollars to his buddy to the detriment of his team. They need a young goalie will help them out, not cost them a roster spot and cash. You see this is BS. The taxpayer and the fans are getting hosed and there's lots of examples of how this league is selling out its fans everyday.

  11. THG … I get what you’re doing. 20 minutes talking about them talking about the building. SHOW US THE RENDERINGS!! 😂

  12. Like all mega-corporate forms of architecture, the new Flames arena is ugly and disgusting.

  13. As a Calgarian, the tax money they're taking for this is way too much and rising concession prices that are going to follow is sad and frustrating to say the very least. Personally I'm a huge fan of the saddledome and I wish the new building had more personality in the design because right now it just looks like another boring new building. There is so much nostalgia with the saddledome and I'm sad to see it go, as I would actually prefer it if they could keep it around and maybe turn it into a museum or something because it is such a beautiful landmark and skyline feature.
