Hope he owes alot .. He deserves nothing but the worse!!
Time to pay up Johnny!!! There is no escaping the CRA!!!!!
Canadian guy playing in Toronto, gives CRA the idea he’s on the hook for money earned by a resident. How much time he spent in Canada that calandrar year is crucial. One day over 6 months and taxes are due in Canada. Black and white. Nothing personal.
He’ll have to lay low on Vegas ir and save enough cash to pay this
Never been a problem before now ..But when you change and try to beat the tax man then problems come up
Consider how much revenue the NHL brings to the CRA.
They need to ask is this worth risking the rest of the NHL taxes if this dominos into a bigger thing.
Let him center a line in jail.
slave tax
Yeah, tax laws are beyond complicated.. and that just in one state down here in the states.. add in the Feds, the fact that as an athlete, they like to tax all players even vistors (pro-rated upon what they earn playing in that state) then add in Canada and it's provinces.. he for just 1 player you could keep accountants and lawyers busy. This is one area… I"m not going to blame Tavaras directly… as it's his legal and accounting teams that should have and still be handling this totally.. problem is.. he'll get the blame either way…
It could work to make Canadian teams more careful about giving out stupid contracts.
Probably why he's doing his best to be invisible.
