Our path to a dynasty diverged dramatically when we had to lose him. I understand the decision then but damn them ramifications are a bitch…
Simple answer is no. Couldn’t afford him under the cap then, can’t afford him under the cap now.
That game winner in the Stanley Cup was beautiful. Absolutely incredible.

Too many men!

Trade for Val please
GotThatDoggInHim
Not at that cap hit, not at that contract length. Even if Calgary retained half, we don’t want an aging Naz by years 5-7 of that contract

Come on home you handsome devil

Come home bb (at a reduced cap hit)

Understand why we had to lose him, but I thought he was the piece that made us a cup team and losing him made us not a cup team.

so Naz and the Avs both regret that deal? Maybe the Flames want to regret another deal and take Val for Naz?
PackDaddy21222
I think it’s common knowledge that he regrets leaving but I can’t blame him for taking the bag.

I’ll never forget that playoff goal where the puck was tucked in the back of the netting and nobody knew it was all over besides him. GOATED
mountains_forever
We’ll take him.

Hmmm…
Would have to unload Mitts. Probably not happening.
Though I do miss him, almost as much as I miss Peter Mcnabb.

Honestly don’t want him back. He had his chance here and took the money

Here’s hoping but if not…
Nazem Kadri, you are a Utah hockey club!
InevitableAvalanche
Like him. Don’t think he is worth his contract so don’t want him here at that price.
blondespikes22
Would love him here, not sure how we can afford that salary
Would require multiple picks and someone like Ritchie and Olausson/Behrens/etc

I know it’s really easy to say this from my couch, but I will never understand players who walk away from a real shot at winning the cup for a couple million bucks. Dude was making plenty enough to retire on and left one of the best rosters of all time for a raise and no playoffs at all.

Bro could have taken a hometown discount to stay in Colorado. Instead you chose money and went to Calgary. No sympathy
grizzlyman87
In hindsight, he should’ve never been let go of. We could Have afforded him but no one knew about landys knee back then. That said, I still consider this an L for cmac. We spent a lot of assets to get middlestadt
