On December 1st, 2023, I went to Sewickley, PA light up night for my work to help out. When I’m on a break, I overheard Sid was there and my coworker and I went to look for him, after 10 minutes we got nothing and just when I gave up, just like that, my coworker spotted him against a building and I was nervous at 1st but we politely approached him, introduced ourselves, and had a small talk with him. Asked for a photo and he accepted. He’s a really good guy.

Crosby probably has had that Rimouski Oceanic jacket since he got drafted into major junior 21 years ago. And based on his superstitions, he probably hasn’t washed it for the same amount of time.
Edit: I am not starting any offseason controversy and I don’t want to jeopardize the contract extension negotiations because it’s a sensitive matter to everyone in the Penguins universe, but what if our captain smells like a sweaty ass crack because he doesn’t wash hockey equipment based on his superstitions.
We saw in the 2010 HBO documentary “24/7: Road to the NHL Winter Classic” that Crosby does not wash his lucky protective cup that he’s worn since he’s 16…

My dad’s old hockey teammate used to work at a convenience store, and sid would frequently come inside and buy stuff, and to the town he was just a neighbor.
