  1. Wouldn't be have to be out on waivers if they signed him to an NHL contract? I'm by no means an expert on those rules but thought that was the case. Since they would have had to put him on waivers to sign him to AHL if he was on an NHL contract. Otherwise, it would allow teams to circumvent waivers.

  2. As a CBJ fan, I was impressed with Alex the short time we had him. Sadly for Alex, Columbus's glut of young forwards meant that there just wasn't any room for him on the roster to give him another shot this coming season.

  3. Alex has always produced at AHL but despite having good years producing 15pts in 23gp last year and 26pts in 65gp with Blackhawks hasn't stayed in NHL. He's still only 26 maybe he can still find a team to be a bottom 6 guy on.

  4. On an AHL contract, I don't have a problem with that.
Just because his brother plays for Toronto should mean or guarantee anything

  5. But he could be signed by any NHL team…. Also am I mistaken? If Toronto signs them or anyone signs up to NHL contract during the season before they can call him up he would have to clear waivers.

  6. Not sure why this is "BREAKING NEWS". Alex is top pick years ago and can't cut it in the NHL. Guy is a good player in the AHL. Just curious why this is "Breaking News" for a player getting signed to the AHL? Shouldn't even make hockey news

  7. The Bruins should have tried to get Kevin Hayes. After all Pittsburgh got him for nothing. Yes on cal clutterbuck PTO. No on Laine.

  8. It’s a win/win, if he sucks again, he’s in the AHL, who cares. But, if he lights it up, Nylander Brothers hype BS, or they trade him to some slouch, who knows….

Got my shirt today in the mail Mike, thank you Sir, it’s great!

  9. So even despite KNOWING it was the Marlies who signed Nylander you still wrote Maple Leafs in your title. 🙄
