Kerr and Ingebritsen too full of themselves and got found out. It's ok to be confident but they were both plain cocky.

Kerr ran a personal best. On another day it would have been good enough.
Obviously neither he nor Ingebritsen thought Hocker would be in contention and still have a sprint in him at that kind of pace…but he did.
Americans are always in it to win it . Never discount them .

Cole Hocker ranked 100 in the world? He won our Trials with a 3:30 race…. really 99 people rated higher? I think Mr Cushing is full of beans.
If Ingebrigtsen didn't run wide to block Kerr then Hocker wouldn't have been able to come up the inside. Hocker should thank Kerr. Such an awesome race
Yared Nuguse almost beat Josh Kerr as well.
Kerr's and Hocker's tactics were as brilliant as Ingebrigtsen's tactics were insane.
Anyone who didn't know Hocker was a big factor prerace shows little knowledge of current 1,500 meter scene, as for Jakob and Josh all the bravado before was embarrassing, Kerr saying UK had best 1,500-meter runners laughable with USA having 3 in top 5.
You can look up the Diamond League schedule just as easily as the NBA remixer League schedule, it is your own fault if you donโt.

Imagine calling 2X Olympics finalist an unknown. Ranked 100? Cole made the finals in Tokyo 2020 and finished 6th in 3:31.

Kerr should have run his race but instead he was too emotionally attached pf beating his former rival.
The comment that Hocker was ranked 100th is a joke. No way he is ranked 100th, ask Josh Kerr if he thought Hocker was the 100th best 1500 meter runner. Overall these guys know what they are talking about, but comments like this make them look stupid.
Track and field is really only relevant in the Olympics. I think the other events are kept beyond paywalls with Flo or some other subscription service few are gullible enough to buy. Put diamond league on NBC or USA or free on YouTube and the sport can build. For me, after the Olympics I'll go back to watching free mountain races.
indoor track needs to be added to the winter Olympics. Utilize the odd events 60m, 200m 600m ,1000m, 3000m, xc

Pretty sure Hocker was the beonze favorite I believe.
What makes this special is that it was very much a USA Team race.
Through the mid section of the race the US team was on each other's butts and the way the last 200m broke out the leaders were too concerned with each other and Hocker turned on the jets.
He was the best late kicker in the race and the Kerr and Ing got caught sleeping.
Both Cole and Yared are better โkickersโ than Josh and Jakob. If they stay close, they are always a threat. Beamish from New Zealand is another dangerous โkicker.โ Running strategy at this level is key.
