  1. It was a hit. In hockey there is hitting. Gretzky wasn't hit much during his career because his teams were smart enough to have bodyguards for him. If you hit the great one you were risking your own health….

  2. Suter was a great defenseman but was renowned for stuff like that. Probably getting Wayne back for all those years the Oilers knocked the Flames out if the playoffs

  3. this almost ended gretzkys career but youll never hear about it like lemieux or orr. always irritates me.

  4. So much for the crackpot theory that he was allowed to be hit. And where was the big fight afterwards? Nothing happened.

  5. What the F Suter!? That was terrible. Somewhere Jeff Norton was watching that and pointing like Leonardo DiCaprio in that meme.

  6. No idea why I watched this. I came to find the Messier elbow on Modano and this was below. Hated it then and I hate it now. Suter was such a prick for doing this! lol

  7. Gary Suter, cheap shot after cheap shot. That was a hit from behind. He retired Paul Kariya too. Who the Fuck ever paid big money to come to an NHL game to see Gary Fucken Puker. Pathetic… just pathetic.

  8. Not a cheap hit. Hitting at that moment was fair game. The puck was at his skates. It's not Suter's fault he didn't look back. Gretzky had an invisible barrier around him his whole career. I was happy when that happened. I even have the original newspaper clipping.😂 The only reason he had way more points than his contemporaries was due to being protected by the league. It was accepted throughout the league that he was off limits. All his achievements should have asterisks beside them.

  9. It doesn’t look like an exceptionally hard hit. I think he just fell awkwardly and was bent backwards by the boards.
