I was 100% excited from day 1 regarding PLD. He got around 3 minutes less of ice time than in previous seasons. That’s easily 20 points and his normal 60 points. I see him scoring 30 goals and 50 assists for his best season so far entering his prime.
Nobody can guarentee Oshie anything! He is 37! 37 and damaged goods. C’mon. Would be unheard of in the past for him to continue at that age in the recently past. Tune for youngblood. Selfish and of little self awareness if he doesn’t hang em’ up. If he does continue he won’t last long. If he proves me wrong, plays 70 games and helps the team I will apologize.
Generally I like the changes and I think the Caps are better, (maybe 3-6 wins), and are likely a playoff team. I think potentially they could be very good and maybe a Conference Final team. Everything depends on how well the players mesh. And there are unanswered questions. Will PLD work well on the Caps and show his skills? Will Lindgren repeat/improve his 2023-2024 performance in net? Will Ovi bounce back to say a 40-45 goal level?
