  1. Blues suck, I hope they finish about 20th every season for a long time. If it weren't for a jack off move by the Blues. Oilers would be set. FYB !!!

  2. Neither the Blues nor Doug Armstrong are in "desperation mode," lol. They are methodically going about re-stocking the cupboards with good, cost controlled young talent (much of it drafted and still to come this, and over and the next few years) after realizing a couple years ago that their cup window had basically closed. They've missed the playoffs 2 years in a row, and likely prefer not having a third miss (which would be a real rarity for the organization) but they–according to Armstrong and ownership–are sticking to the plan of retooling, and saw some good progress last year. They're taking a very realistic, business like approach, while remaining aware that they need to ice an at least entertaining team with a chance at making the playoffs. Ideally they'd like to make the playoffs for the fans, the added revenue, and experience for our young players, but remain realistic while building for the future. I follow the team closely, reading, watching and listening to basically every story or interview our local and outside professional media provides on the team, and nowhere has desperation been a story point.

  3. Blues are NOT in desperation mode and it is obvious to anyone that isn't caught up in the drama that this was a specifically targeted team maneuver.
Whether Armstrong and Holland concocted this idea as payback or if Armstrong simply wanted to kneecap a Western Conference rival is arguable. What isn't arguable is that this was a concerted effort to strip talent away from Edmonton…or to put Bowman in a serious pickle to try and figure this out.

  4. Broberg isn't worth 4.5, and the Oilers just traded a 30 point guy making 2.1 million. Both guys are gone. They got a sniff of gane 7 and that wasn't enough to want to sign with Edmonton. Chasing moning instead of Championship ms.
