Like you said this would take away a valuable spot for a young defenceman. Hence why kovacevic was let go. I dont know how guys like Dumont have careers as analysts/writers… I guess it's a good way to stir the pot though.

Montreal don’t need anymore picks , their next step should be making cap room and room in the lineup for players that have no future in Montreal, Anderson and Gallagher should be what Hughes is working on

If Edmonton don't match the offer sheet I would see them have interest in a young defender that can play now and could move the puck. The Habs have good options for them : Jordan Harris and Jayden Strubble.
