Andre Miller: A THROWBACK! Is He The Most Underrated Point Guard of the 21st Century?? | FPP

He was known as the Professor for his next level Basketball IQ. Andre Miller was the type of point guard everyone wanted to play with, as his priority was getting his teammates the ball. He is one of the most underrated, underappreciated and undervalued point guards of all time; and his numbers back that up as he is the only player who put up the numbers he did and never made an all star team. He spent 4 years at Utah, playing 2 of those with Keith Van Horn, during one of the most successful periods of Utes basketball which saw them make an appearance in the 1998 NCAA Championship game. He was a lottery pick in 1999 and over the course of his 17 year career played with names like: Shawn Kemp, Elton Brand, Lamar Odom, Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, Brandon Roy, John Wall, Bradley Beal, DeMarcus Cousins, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard just to name a few. After playing on bad teams in his early years, he would join the Denver Nuggets and over the rest of his time in the NBA, he would only miss the playoffs twice in 13 seasons, but he never had alot of postseason success, and never had any eye popping seasons, aside from leading the league in assists in ’02, and for as beautifully as he played the game, his playstyle wasn’t ever going to be the main attraction; as Andre Miller didn”t get the recognition he deserved when he was playing, and is even less talked about now; but Andre Miller was a starting caliber NBA point guard until he was 40 years old.

  1. Andre Miller is one of the few NBA players to never get into the All-Star appearancesšŸ€šŸ€šŸ€šŸ€šŸ€šŸ€

  2. Andre Miller is the only point guard to wait till heā€™s like 10 years in the league before he has a 50 point game .. Lol

  3. Miller always lost to teams who always made it far In the playoffs that year so he always up against very very strong team's

  4. Andre was the man! Saw him playing for Rick Majerus and then as a Nugget – if somehow he could have stayed without giving him up for Iverson, the Nuggets could have been a title contender.

  6. the 02 world championships slightly dented miller's rep, as they finished 7th, i remember people blaming him for shooting a 3 vs serbia when reggie miller was on the floor. from then on he was regarded as a steady reliable point guard. you know what you are getting every game but also the opponent don't expect him to take over games like stars do. this resulted in no all star selection, and also playing for small market teams before portland and philly.

  7. Dude could hoop and was a great guy as well. Ran into him downtown here in Denver and was super nice and friendly. Definitely a true professional.

  8. Have you done one of these profiles on David Wesley? He's an often forgotten about good starter that was a 6'1" SG.

  9. Great player to feature!!!
    Please do one on
    Randall Cunningham
    Lisa Leslie
    Vernon Maxwell
    Robert Horry
    Horace Grant

    Ne Ne Hilario
    Wally Szerbiak(sp)
    Charles Oakley

  10. Andre Miller set the Sixers back a decade. I remember when we finally traded AI, it sucked, but atleast we would have a chance at Kevin Durant in the draft as we had the worse record in the league when we traded him because AI was sitting out. And than we get Andre Miller and decide to go on a crazy winning streak that put us at the bottom of the lottery and for what? Thaddeus Young instead of Kevin Durant that is what.
