Let me know your thoughts on the Panthers Off-Season
I love this series, good idea. Thanks for getting us all through a long, hockey-dry summer.
I think it was a smart move for Zito to let Montour go, given his age and the contract he got in Seattle. Panthers will have more cap space next year to retool the roster, plus some of Zito's draft picks are starting to come online. People forget that last year Cousins played in the top 9 until Tarasenko came in at the deadline, and OEL was thought of as washed before he signed. Adam Boqvist has upside and could have a breakout season in Maurice's system. Same with his brother.
The Panthers 23-man roster will likely be this after camp and preseason, with Justin Sourdif a wild card to make the team:
Verhaeghe/Barkov/Reinhart
Rodrigues/Bennett/Tkachuk
Luostarinen/Lundell/Samoskevich (1st round pick from 2021)
Boqvist/Nosek/Entwistle

Being a South Floridian, well, a transplant, but still down here in actual Summer Heat Hell, I can go to the arena any night of the season and get a ticket wherever I want. The fan base shows up when it has to, but at least they show up. It’s a weird feeling knowing the Cup was ten minutes from my house and i didn’t care….weird down here Mikey.

"Depleted Roster"?? Really?? 8 of their top 9 returning, 4 of 6 defenseman including 3 of top 4 and Bobrovsky returns as well. Rather disingenuous caption.
