Oilers are gonna have to really pay up!!! taking Cecci or Kulak as a camp dump is right there a cost…

Let both of them walk and send Cici, a second to Anaheim for Gudas. That would still leave another $3 to play with.
The amount of playing time they have given neighbors already, I don’t see them letting him walk.. I think Edmonton is going to find themselves in a fairly similar spot come next off season as far as money goes and cap space goes.. they are in that “window” period where they are going to have about 6 years to win a cup and then they are going to have to go through a full rebuild, in my opinion
Definitely looks like they are keeping Broberg, I was curious if they would have enough space next year assuming the cap goes up about the same amount but it looks like they will and will just have to fill out 4 or so guys with near league min deals. Kane on LTIR, let Halloway go, and might have to throw in that 3rd from STL and something in 26 cause they don't have a 1st or 2nd this year to move ceci or kulak and it will be a done deal.
And no way they are able to go after Neighbors, 1. he has to be available, STL isn't known for letting their young guys just hang out there and they know now it a possibility and STL will have a lot of cap Neighbors is going to get 6m or so which is 1st round pick compensation.
However I'm calling a shocker here. The Oilers are gonna trade Kulak to STL and throw back their own 3rd from Halloway to create cap space to sign Broberg lol. Wouldn't that be crazy.

No way flames trade Anderson to the oilers. They didn’t want to trade Tanev to us last year for a 1st and ceci, doubt they will help the oilers now. Oilers would really have to overpay for them to trade him to us.
How does one get 36k subscribers doing nothing but "report" rumors that never come to fruition? Oh right, and talking about news that has already been all over the internet for anyone who can read?
If that happens for STL, I can see the Blues walking away and further hamstringing the Oilers.

Broberg has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be in Edmonton for whatever reason. I’m wondering if Oilers might be working on a deal where they sign Broberg to keep St Louis from stealing him and then maybe trading Broberg to another team for a decent defenceman.

OMG, such a hack. With what cap could Edmonton possibly offer sheet Neighbours? This abject nonsense came from a fanboy Oilers blog coping hard, funny how you don't EVER mention the "sources" of the fantasy garbage you post everyday… "it could happen!"
Uhh no, it could not. They have to re-sign Drai and Bouchard, and will need to do some work to be able to get those done. A Neighbours offer sheet = willful delusion. OBVIOUSLY.
the oilers are about the least likely team possible to be able to offer sheet neighbours. they'll need to spend 20m just to keep draisaitl and bouchard. who thinks up these things? also, it's far more likely they trade their picks for immediate help at the deadline, rendering them ineligible to even try.
now, if neighbours get to RFA, i'd love the habs to take a run at him. we have our picks and the cap space to do it.
hughes already got lane hutson out of the kulak trade. i'm not sure what we'd need with yet another LD, though, particularly a bottom pair guy. i can see them in on ceci, a RD, if the sweetener is good enough.

i think van could have got more in a podkolzin deal, and certainly could have traded him to a different team. if a 4th is all it took i would have sent a pick myself as a habs fan.
the flames are not sending andersson to edmonton. their prospects suck and their picks are likely to be late. and why would they help their most hated rival?
