I was neutral on Ceci , he just made too money, gotta find players on the cheap for a superstar team, I'd look at moving Kulak in the season as well

Broberg isn't worth 4.5M for the next 2 years, but he is worth than the 2nd round pick right now.
If the Oilers match the offer sheet, it shows Draistle, McDavid, and Broucher that the team is not willing to take less to win the cup.
Like many , I am neutral on Cece. Again the large contract to Nurse has hurt the team. Both trades show that management is actively putting pieces in place while trying to get cap compliant. I was looking forward to you take. Thanks Patrick.
So 2 trades, Ceci is gone. I still think the Oilers let Holloway and Broberg go and use that cap room to pick up someone else near the end of their contract via trade. I don't think Broberg is worth the money. I think that Jackson made moves at the beginning of July to make the loss of Holloway, Broberg and Kane (on IR) easier to deal with and if the stars aligned then the Oilers would be overloaded with talent. I still think Kulak goes this week as well, and we will see the Leon extension announced. 😊

Hopefully they keep Holloway, still want that speed and physicality but the Oilers’ top 9 is so good it’s hard to be upset. Safe to say Skinner will produce more than Holloway would have, I just don’t like the idea of getting rid of Holloway for his center/PK/powerforward potential.

Broberg may not be worth it right now, but I can't picture him being not worth it by the end of the contract. He's got massive potential, and looked good in the playoffs. Just don't want him to take off after the contracts done.
And Holloway ain't worth it with how stacked the top 9 is. Let him go, he's a luxury.

Now we just need a Leon contract, let the dust settle with our defence core. ( 2 + 14) (25 + 86) (27 + ?). Left is Brown, Stetcher, Emberson. All guys we signed or traded for. I think it will be Stetcher, but who knows perhaps they all get like 10-12 game looks to see who fits best with Brett Kulak? From the updates I saw, Emberson seems like a good solid shutdown guy, Brown is a big monster that really only has size from what I gather and Stetcher, more experience more of a stay at home type of guy.
I am tending to agree with Holloway going to St Louis and Broberg staying. This is just working out to well for that not to be the case. To many coincidences for things lining up.
Ty Emberson is a young high end prospect and if he can reach his potential then the Ceci trade could turn out to be a big steal for the Oilers.

I dont know about Broberg I think he got shaffted by Oilers and then played great in playoffs but is he worth that much money, I say sign free agents ex Oilers Schultz and Barrie to close out your D Pairings.Quite a few young guys now but we are built for a Cup next year and their will be no excuses if they dont win it all.
Thats a good trade. -4 in 18 minutes a game in 30 games on san jose is pretty good consideing. Im sure he will give his all considering hes back with our coach.

No particularly strong feelings about Ceci one way or the other but ya gotta feel for a guy getting moved from a Stanley Cup finalist to the worst team in the league. That's gotta suck!
