[O’Connor] My understanding is that at least at the moment, the Flyers aren’t open to loaning Alexei Kolosov back to the KHL for another season. They believe the best move for his development is to come to North America now, after he spent Year 1 of his ELC on loan.

[If Kolosov does indeed want to be loaned back to the KHL yet again, it doesn’t seem like the Flyers are inclined to oblige. Nor do they want to terminate his deal. They want him to honor the contract he signed & come over.

Good. I am glad to see them choose the “tough love” approach here. It is understandable that Kolosov might have some culture shock and/or homesickness. But it’d be bad business if the Flyers just let him bolt at the first sign of adversity, especially after doing him a favor of loaning him last season too.

Comcast has deep pockets. Hire a Belarusian coach, hire a translator, sign a Belarusian minor leaguer, do something to accommodate a promising prospect. But do it on the Flyers terms.

I’m in the camp of: You got the signing bonus, you will be here.

If a trade is the only way this is “solved”, so be it.

Why not let him play in the KHL. Bette league than AHL. He has no trade value now. Better to let him build that. I think he did not realize they were promising Fedotov the NHL when he signed.

Pains me how far this franchise has fallen. Weโ€™re failing to motivate players to leave Minsk to play here.
