  1. His dad mustโ€™ve had him shooting pucks until his hands bled every night. That release is just insane ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. 4:41 so far these are some pretty basic shots.

Shooting off the wrong leg is decades old bro.

None of this shows his deadliest technique which stems from his long reach. He is able to threaten shot while holding the puck so many feet out from his body, and then drag it in tight to shoot. Now this is really the most that the angle of attack can be altered by a single person without passing it. And because itโ€™s just one move by a single person, it can occur at lightning speedโ€” literally altering the attack angle by 5 degrees without having to pass is a technique he has been a pioneer of. Several others are now beginning to do it. What makes it possible is the different shooting technique required to use modern sticks. Which is why we havenโ€™t seen it in the past.

  3. You are pointing out the shot that he has when it's not really a special shot. Mcdavid, beadard have special SHOTS. Matthews has a high end shot but not overly special. His vision to find open ice and he is special when it comes to looking off the goalies. Mcdavid and beadard can release the puck and the goalies can't tell where its going by the release. Matthews they can but when he is looking a total different direction and then uses his quick release while looking a different direction is what makes him special. He is either wide open in a hole he found or looking pass the whole time and then releasing when the goalie starts playing pass slightly.
